IGA extra Alimentation E.F.Y. Caron inc.

My go to IGA in my area. Most IGA's have hard time keeping their shelves properly stocked. Not this one. I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes to find cashier. Everyone is courteous too.

Some of the staff members particularly around the main counter not much of a happy lot. Seems like patrons are an annoyance to them. Wasn't always like that 1-2 years ago. Not all staff are like this. Maybe stressed out and tired. Other than that it is a well stocked store.

Decent variery and quality of products but prices are too high. Unjustifiably so.

No self-serve cash out machines. Cashier squished cheese, pate, produce and a dog food can. When I called store to complain, I was transferred several times and finally just hung up.

Really nice IGA. Very clean and organized. Produce is always very fresh.

Has good selection of craft beer like most of the IGAs in Montreal.

Small, though you can find a great deal of items available. You need to go to the bigger IGA to find the full line-up of gluten free/ vegetarian & organic biologique options. However, they make-up for it with a beautiful dairy section!

DONT BUY THE LOBSTER!!!!! My boyfriend and I both bought lobsters yesterday and they’re ROTTEN!!! They smell and taste like urine! Currently I’m on my way to emergency with shellfish poisoning symptoms from eating the lobster yesterday! I called today to report the lobsters as rotten and the manager wanted the lobster back to exchange it!! DONT BUY IT!!!

TADA app is great! Good recipes and great ingredient guidance. Also thanks to the app, I noticed the cashier accidentally double -scanned an item while looming to see if prices matches. Saves money, time and due diligence. My family loved the supper I prepared.
