Came here for a simple dinner and ended up ordering the tasting menu. The food was definitely one of the better experiences enjoyed in a long while. The only meh moment was the smoked duck salad where I found an identity crisis… did not flow with the accompanying foods presented. The fish was very fresh and could taste it in every bite. The staff is very efficient without being intrusive. See myself coming back to try their other offerings.
Quick service, chirashi is good with a lot of fish, but the teppenyaki pork stir fry was dry and probably not made out of fresh meat, def not recommend. The meals come with a nice lychee pudding. Service is average. It’s quite expensive for the Location.
Although the restaurant is clean, the food is good, and the service was decent, there's nothing special that sets it apart from all other Japanese restaurants in the area. Something nice is that green tea comes as part of the meal and lychee jello dessert free as well, but their entree prices are a few dollars more than similar sushi places, so it's basically built into the price.
We ordered take out for the family. Premium sushi and sashimi platter. Quality is good but was a little surprised the premium platter wasn’t as premium as other places. With the price we paid for, there are better places so giving a 3 stars for overall experience.
Very disappointed... We ordered a variety of dishes and it's quite sad to say that we didn't find them worth the price. Sushi and sashimi deluxe was quite basic for its price point. The tempura had a lot of batter. The clam in sake broth was full of msg. The fish soup was TASTELESS. The beef sashimi was frozen when it was served... Am I that outdated that frozen beef is now acceptable to be served? The yakis, the grilled scallops and oysters were the only ones that met our standards. Parking was very limited so you need to park on the street.
Ordered the sushi/sushi roll takeout platter large 65 pc, the sushi was not bad and the fish were fresh. We don't normally count to see if we were given the correct number of pieces but this time we randomly decided to count, we came up short only 64 pieces. Might be worth counting the # of pieces in platter from now on since all the rolls are in perfect even #s and sushi are in 3s, the numbers would never add up to 65 then.
Set food in Unionville, wanted a light late lunch, saw the sign, drove in. Quite comfortable family type Japanese restaurant. Greeted by server, preferred house warm sake, it freezing outside! Simple sashimi combo, unni & slow grill hamachi head. Sashimi not bad, grill fish was good, 3 bottles of 8oz washed down a light meal, felt warm & relax, only it closed @ 15:00, so we needed to leave!
April 2022 4 Located off the busy street of Highway 7, you could quickly drive pass this restaurant that is a little set back from the road given its plaza and parking spaces at the front is rather small. Step into this restaurant and you'll be welcomed by its nice warm wood finish interior. Smoked duck breast udon and spider roll upgrade $16.50 + $8.25 The duck breast was done beautifully. Tender and smokey. The udon was nicely chewy and the broth was just perfect. A good noodle dish. The spider roll came beautifully presented and tastes as good as it looks with a nice generous portion of fish roe on top. The 4pcs Sashimi with Mini Steak Don $19.50 was good. The Sashimi was the usual faire - salmon and tuna, but it was nice and thick. The mini steak was nicely grilled medium rare with a mini raw egg and drizzled with a light sweet soy glaze. Dishes came with salad and miso soup. The salad itself was a bit wilted and didn't seem very fresh, but was still ok. The dressing was very good. The miso soup was ok. Dessert, a lychee pudding, was nice but potions was a bit small.. a very small shooter cup. Though a bit more expensive, the quality, cut of the fish and taste of the food itself is pretty good and worth trying. Parking limited. Would come again.
Came here on Friday night without reservations. Got a table but half table was on aisle. Service is quick and food is by average. Had salad but no soup. Ordered a hot sake but there was some sediment on the bottom…. Check picturefor details.
Came here for a lunch date with the SO. Ordered Seared Fois Gras & Scallops for appetizers and house special maki Toro Toro maki and Eddys maki The Fois Gras was flavourful and light, the Toro Toro was abit over mushed but still good and the Eddys maki was a good choice and tasty. Parking is a tragedy and very crammed. Service was quick and attentive. Atmosphere was typical for a Japanese restaurant. Seems kid friendly.
