Disappointing Stay - Would Not Recommend.nnI knew this hotel wasn’t perfect after reading reviews before booking, but the main reason I chose it was for the views. I even mentioned this when making the reservation and specifically requested a high-floor room. Despite that, we were given a room on the 5th floor with walls obstructing the view, which was really disappointing.nnThe hotel feels very aged, with broken tiles in the bathroom and visible mold—definitely not what you expected. The cleanliness was poor as well. For a two-night stay with two guests, we only got two coffee pods, and there was no room service during our stay—no cleaning, no fresh towels. The room design was also outdated, with mismatched furniture that didn’t fit the space. Even though the room was large, the layout was awkward and not functional.nnOn a positive note, the location was very good—within walking distance to Old Town and many great restaurants. However, for the price I paid, I could have stayed at a cute boutique hotel or a charming Airbnb instead. I would not recommend this hotel.
Good location, staff very good. Room could not be bettered for the view from the 26th floor.nWe paid for 3 star hotel and that's what we got. The bathrooms are in need of upgrading and we're still on paper cups but it was clean comfortable and the beds were very comfy.nWould stay again if in Quebec.
This hotel has the looks from the outside but no style on the inside!!nRooms very run down..nReceptionists had no local knowledge.nBus outside to old town handy. Could walk it however.nRevolving restaurant is nice and reasonable for a drink with great views.nCarrier st is a short walk and is a fabulous street for dining and coffee bars to watch the world go by.
This hotel is definitely an older model and after reading other reviews I agree that upgrades need to be made to the rooms. The bathroom was outdated bathtub/shower was very old and the furniture/walls had scratches on them.nnWith that being said, the room was clean and our beds were made/towels were changed daily. The concierge as well as the front desk staff were very kind. Our room had an incredible view of the city! Considering how great the location is, I personally think the price is justified but do agree that the rooms need to be renovated.
If you're reading the other negative reviews of this place and are sceptical...don't be! It is dumpy and needs a renovation badly.nnYou get the impression that no one who works here really cares about the place.nnUpon entering our room we noticed lots of dust, scratches and rips in the furniture and there were nail clippings left on the bathroom counter. We complained and were moved to another room that still had issues stained bathtub and toilet, the sink had a toothpaste lid stuck in it and general wear and tear all over. It made us nervous that if some really basic things weren't being cleaned or repaired then there must be so many other issues we couldn't see. This is not a comfy place and lacks personality.nnToo bad as the location was excellent, close to everything and the views of the city from the higher floors are completely unobstructed and beautiful. Find the extra money and stay somewhere else if you can!
