Lovely stay with beautiful views across the plains and river, especially enjoyable at sunrise and for a peaceful evening glance. The location is fantastic for getting out on the parkway to walk or run and exploring the Plains of Abraham. It is also conveniently close to the Citadel and Old Quebec shops and Petit Champlain about 15 min., so sightseeing was easy and fun. The pool was a nice atmosphere for families. Regular room service would be nice, but we were able to request items from kind housekeeping staff. The self check in was convenient.
Compared to the price, this hotel was very disappointing. The location is excellent, but that’s about the only positive.nnThe hotel feels old and poorly maintained. The room looked outdated, with old furniture, an old TV, an old mini-fridge, and worn tables. The bathroom was especially disappointing—the shower looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1990s. The walls, doors, and hallways also gave the impression of an aging building that hasn’t been renovated in years.nnI paid over $230 for one night, and weekend rates can reach around $350. At those prices, I expected a clean, modern, and well-maintained hotel. Instead, it felt outdated and not worth the money. My own apartment feels more modern and luxurious than this hotel.nnThe hotel has great potential because of its fantastic location, but it really needs major renovations and modernization to justify its prices.
WARNING TO FAMILIES STAYING AT HOTEL CONCORDE QUÉBECnnOur family has never experienced anything like this.nnYesterday, our hotel room literally started raining from the ceiling. Water poured into our room so heavily that we had to use buckets to catch it while trying to save our belongings and protect our newborn and five-year-old.nnThe flood damaged our baby’s sound machine, our expensive formula preparation machine, and our formula. We were forced to rush out and spend hundreds of dollars replacing essential baby supplies.nnIt only got worse.nnThe playpen the hotel provided for our newborn had a hole in it and wasn’t safe to use. We asked for a replacement crib.nnWe waited over 12 hours.nnDespite repeated requests, no crib arrived. No meaningful help arrived. We were promised towels and assistance that never came.nnAfter being moved to another room, our belongings were trapped behind heavy furniture. Having recently given birth, I physically couldn’t move it myself. I had to beg for help just to access our own clothes. The staff said they didn’t speak English and couldn’t help us. My mother in law called to speak with them in French and try to get us help as she was so worried for our children and they dismissed her saying she was “telling them what to do” and “that’s not how this works.”nnWhen we finally spoke to a supervisor after hours of being ignored, we were told they “didn’t like our tone.” They wouldn’t put us in contact with a manager because “he was gone for the day and deserved not to be bothered when he’s not working.” Instead of helping a family whose room had just flooded, they threatened to call the police because we were upset after spending 12 hours trying to get a safe place for our baby to sleep.nnNow they want us to hand over our damaged baby equipment so they can “inspect” it before discussing compensation.nnOur five-year-old was terrified. Our newborn couldn’t sleep. What should have been a family vacation became an exhausting, stressful nightmare.nnA flooded room is an accident.nnEverything that happened afterward was a choice.nnWe hope Hotel Concorde Québec takes responsibility and ensures no other family is treated this way.
Before going there, I was a bit hesitant because of some reviews I had read, but our stay turned out to be really good overall.nnThe location is excellent, right in the heart of the city. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the washroom was fine and working well.nnThe pool on the 4th floor was great, warm water and a nice view. Both the kids and we really enjoyed it. There’s also a nice café/restaurant in the lobby where you can grab coffee in the morning or evening.nnThe underground parking is a big plus. It costs $25 per day, but it’s definitely worth it.nnOn the downside, the hotel is a bit old. You can notice small things like some worn wood or older carpet in the hallway. But honestly, it wasn’t a big deal for us.nnOverall, we had a great stay and would definitely come back.
Location is amazing for the price. However, the room we had on the 6th floor was run down and not cozy though extremely spacious. AC worked well and was a consistent sound at night for sleeping. No valet parking available as their garage was full so we had to park in a garage two blocks over. Didn't need our car though due to walkability of the area so that was okay. Nice gift shop and restaurants looked busy though we ate elsewhere.
