Wonderful not for profit hotel. Extra money goes to preservation of the building. Rich history and hallways are a museum you are free to walk through and enjoy. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. If you have a car I recommend passing to park in the lot on site. Room was tiny (think cruise ship or European hotel), but cozy and comfortable. We will stay here again our next visit to Quebec.

Very unique building. The rooms were very comfy. Access to the old parts of the building (church, courtyard) was very cool. Took some time just to explore the hotel. Overall very pleasant experience.

I took a guided tour or the museum section. I was amazin. Beautiful place. There is a lot of antique furniture, medical tools, cooking stuff. There is so much history behind this place. I would have spent more than 1.5h there

Le Monastere Des Augustines is a very unique experience. I stayed in one of the contemporary rooms on the 4th floor. It had a private bath with a great bathtub. I took many long hot baths during my 4 days. As I said above, Le Monastere is unique. The size of the bedroom is roomy, but there is no TV, no clock, no phone. This adds to the "retreat" experience. As for the bed, it was one of the most comfortable beds I ever slept in. It was like sleeping in a cloud. The firm mattress, the comforter, the soft sheets, and the pillows. Ahh, the pillows! They are made by Cuddle Down of Ottawa. All bedding is available for purchase. I bought 4 pillows.
Once again, Le Monastere is a unique experience. Breakfast is eaten in silence. Silence is evident throughout the Monastare. They ask that you refrain from using your cellphone and tablets in the common areas of Le Monastere. This adds to the silence and the retreat experience.
Le Monastere may not be for everyone. However, if you just need to get away from all of the noise of the world, all the fake news of the world, and just silence your own mind, Le Monastere is a great retreat. While there, I couldn't help thinking of the Drifters singing, "Up on the Roof."
"When this old world starts getting me down, and people are just too much for me to face. I found a place at the top of the stairs, where all my cares just drift, right into space."
P.S. Make sure to get a massage. I had one by Dominique. BEST MASSAGE I EVER HAD!!!
