Story

In support of our social enterprise efforts, we operate several Value Centres (thrift stores) in the Hamilton-Halton Regions. Our recycling and sales of donated goods, not only helps the environment, but also finances training opportunities for individuals seeking employment, and funds services not supported by government, operating as Goodwill Career Centres.

Mission

Goodwill, The Amity Group helps people to overcome employment barriers and obtain work, thereby enhancing their dignity and idependence within the community.

The whole building is fine, except for the Stairways Coffee House. I ordered there for the first time and the people were nice, but the food preparations are unhygienic. One of the workers weren't wearing gloves when preparing my food. And the senior man was preparing other wraps and he licked the remaining hummus off the spoon. I don't know what he did with the spoon next. But, I couldn't finish my food because it grossed me out that they didn't bother to wear gloves when making my food.

When I was being trained there they lied to me saying I had vacation when I first started but when I requested it after almost 2 years there they said I had no vacation and they let me go when I went on it and on top of that when a family member died they had the nerve to ask "did a family member really die or are you just trying to get out of work?" I no longer recommend anyone going there they have no hearts the coffee house is good but other then that no
