Edit: I initially gave it a 2 star but changed it to a 4 star. Aside from the person I wrote about below, the staff has been great. They're friendly and not pushy. The machines have been broken a couple of times and there have been towel issues, other than that, I've had a good experience with this location. Past review: A friend and I went in to ask about memberships and start times. The guy who gave us the tour didn't listen to us at all and didn't have answers to our questions. We didn't have much time and wanted to return that night. We specifically said we DID NOT want a personal trainer. He called my friend to confirm we were going to come in later that night and said all our signing papers were ready. He also set a meeting with a personal trainer. I called him to let him know we didn't want to be pressured into signing and that we just needed more information. His response, "so why are you coming in at all?" 😐 I'm disappointed because Good Life is close to my house and has an agreement with my work. It was ideal for me. Lots of parking and they're polite on the phone.

Nice fitness centre, could do a better job to keep washroom and change areas cleaner. Staff is courteous, and cooperative.

Please do yourself a favour and avoid this gym at all costs. I went in to try their advertised free trial, and was brought into a back room and given the most aggressive sales pitch of my life. This guy, "Arian" essentially refused to let me workout without signing up right now for some kind of a membership. He said things like what you want to work out with thugs and drug dealers at other gyms? Or you need to act on your impulse right now or you're never going to get anywhere. Or he repeatedly asked me, with more aggression each time, so what are you gonna do for a gym? I kindly explained multiple times that I wasn't sure and just wanted to give the gym a try first and he would cycle the same questions again and again. To put the cherry on top he says "If you're gonna waste my time, I'm gonna waste yours" at which point I picked up my stuff and left. He was literally trying to bully me at this point. Never felt like I've been talked to so aggressively and unprofessionally in my entire life. Would not recommend to anybody, find yourself a gym that isn't an obvious and forceful sales driven environment.

Pros: Great personal trainers. I had Garrett Finter for the introductory course offered at a discounted rate when you first sign up. Could not be more impressed with the knowledge received. Even though I didn't continue with the program I never felt pressured to spend more money. It was an option. I would highly recommend you take it to learn the proper form so you don't miss out on progress. Parking lot is never full even on busy days with the surrounding buildings. Machines and weights are well maintained. Squat racks are well stocked with safeties and weights. Cons: Some front staff are easy reads that they just want your friends' numbers to sign them up. But, 9/10 times they just wish you a good workout and offer a towel. Smaller gym so peak hours can be tight fits but it's never stopped me from working out. -The new gym will be much larger on Walkley.

Run down with old machines. No wifi. Showers are gross. Can't wait for the new one to open at Heron and Walkley.
