Parking is a bit of an underground maze but it’s easy to get right into the store via the garage. And they’ll validate parking with a $25+ purchase.nnThe store is decently well stocked but smaller than a lot of comparable Whole Foods, even the nearby one on Yonge St. You’ll find the brands and fresh produce you need for the most part - with a decent cheese section and some delightful breads. The checkout section has cute umbrellas over the registers and they don’t force robot-self-checkout on you which is nice.nnWould love to see a more modern store design or more spacious layout but it’s doing the best it can in the area it’s in. The ceilings feel dark and low and it gives the place a weird vibe that feels like a store below the tier WF is trying to occupy.nnStaff are great. Options just felt a bit limited.
This store offers a wide variety of products. I especially liked the deli section.
Whole foods market have a lot of variety of options for everyone who have certain preferences and needs. I love how they sell many organic stuff and low-calorie items and great ingredient list items! Their mangos are great when they’re on sale some of them are too small tho
I used to shop at the Whole Foods in Yorkville when I lived in Toronto four years ago, and I always loved going there. I was genuinely looking forward to visiting again while I’m back in town. Unfortunately, today I had the most uncomfortable shopping experience of my life.nI went in with my brother and picked up some deodorant for myself. A staff member approached me and tried to get my attention, but as soon as I greeted her, she walked away. Moments later, a security guard began closely following my brother and me, repeatedly looking into our cart and watching me in particular—for nearly 20 minutes. The only reasons I can think of for this treatment are that I briefly had my hands in my jacket pockets when I walked in which I removed once I started shopping or, frankly, my skin colour.nnI was very close to asking the security guard to either search my pockets or allow me to leave, because I had nothing to hide—I just wanted the following to stop. On top of this, the bright store lighting was causing vision issues for my brother, and I wasn’t able to properly help him because I was so distracted by being watched so intensely.nnI truly hope Whole Foods takes steps to make this right, because what happened today was wrong. The only positives were the friendly woman offering Jamaican patty samples and the customer service representative who helped with my old milk bottle returns.
We have been going to Whole foods north York branch for 3 years now. Tried this branch after the other one closed down recently. Me and my 6 year old were shopping for cheese when one of their staff members Jason barges in to put one of the cheese stick bags back in place in a very rude way. I ignored his behaviour and told him we weren’t done shopping yet but he good there shaking his head and looking down on us while arranging his inventory the whole time we were shopping for cheese. Finally I asked him if there was a problem. The next thing I know he is threatening to call the security and I am looking at him with wide eyes jaw open. I told him he can because I wanted to know what we have done. I called my husband and he was rude to him too. We asked to call the store manager who came, took down my number but we haven’t received any call from her too till date. You don’t expect this from a grocery store and the experience was highly unnecessary. Maybe Amazon should close down its other stores here too. We have lots of better options like Healthy planet, Farm boy, etc. which are more Canadian. Healthy planet’s kitchen is remarkable because of the oils and ingredients they use. Amazon being such a large scale retailer couldn’t pull off that kind of a thing, still uses poisonous seed oils and cheap ingredients in it’s live kitchen, calling itself ‘healthy’. It’s all a gimmick!
