Normally this is one of the better food basics in the entire chain as far as I'm concerned. this time however the parking lot was dirty, the area towards store entrance very dirty with litter everywhere, all of the shopping carts were locked because they don't want people stealing them. then I go in the store it's dirty outside the entrance just inside the entrance and there's no shopping carts this is a perennial problem at the store it's ridiculous.
Super good prices especially on fruit and vegetables, it is one of my favorite stores because I can find everything despite being small and at a super price. It also has super delicious ice cream at a very affordable price with a wide variety of flavours.
Legitimately one of the worst grocery stores in the Toronto. The stink in the front doors and the produce section alone is enough to warrant less than one star. Sometimes it’s so bad it smells like someone had an accident. Less disgusting but still frustrating is that they are regularly out of items or simply don’t carry very regular, basic items. On top of this, the items seem to often be in illogical places, making it difficult to know where things are or if they even have them. There is also regularly no baskets and even less carts. There seems to be zero care for the cleanliness of the store and even less care for the items actually in the store. The place is an absolute dump.
This Food Basics is huge, feels like bigger than other foodbasics. But a lot of things are stock out in the morning. Went there for chickens nuggets selection brand it was stock out. Indian magic masala chips no where to be found.nnOverall, 7 out of 10 price and everything.
I don’t think the store is well maintained in the vegetables/fruits section. Last time I came for groceries, the enoki mushrooms and strawberries had mold in every package. I got the green unripe bananas, and after 3 weeks they never ripped and gone bad. I read online it was because they were picked too early so it will never ripe properly. Had to throw it out.
