AVOID reading the good reviews! I suggest focusing on the 1 star reviews, as they are accurate. This is the worst Food Basic location.nnI don't recommend to anyone!nThe produce department is unacceptable!nnThe fruits and vegetables are always molded or about to go bad. You're lucky to find some good ones out of the bunch. The Management doesn't care about anything and the staff are the same. I've witnessed many customers complain about the produce. Just last week, a lady was shouting at the employees for allowing molded produce to be sold to customers. Sadly, this wasn't the only incident I witnessed! I confronted the Management today and he didn't give a flying f... about the concerns I brought to his attention. This location has a habit of purposely mixing the HALAL items with the NON-HALAL. I asked Management is there a reason why you allow the halal items to be mixed in with the non-halal? and Instead of answering my question or resolving the issue right then and there or assuring me this wont reoccur in the future; he just continues to do inventory and stocking the shelfs! Everytime I am in this store I always have to separate the halal items AWAY from the non-halal. I don't recommend buying anything from this location! I've seen enough disgusting things at this locations.nnManagement, address your issues!
Food Basics consistently impresses me with its affordable prices and decent selection of groceries. The store is always clean and well-organized, making it easy to find what I need quickly. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I appreciate that they offer a variety of budget-friendly options without sacrificing quality. Overall, Food Basics provides a great shopping experience for those looking to save money on their grocery bills.
I think it is the worst location in their chain!nThe floor inside the store is permanently muddy!nThere was a sighting of mice inside the store!nMost of the times impossible to find an available shopping basket!nMost the cashiers never say ‘hi’ or ‘thank you’ to customers or even make eye contact!nVery hard to find help on the floor.nNot once bought & seen expired dairy products on their shelves.nOnly two accessible parking spots that are taken 9/10 times!nCars don’t stop for pedestrians even on the zebra causing mortal danger.nThis car on the photo nearly hit me when I was crossing stopping right on the cross walk to discharge the one on the photo near the very door for his grand convenience.nStore doesn’t have an outside camera to report such incidents to the police and do not care to make it safer!!
One of the primary reasons to recommend Food Basics is the prices of groceries and fruits are affordable and hence it is a good option for those living in the vicinity of Parkwoods. As far as I have seen, only one checkout counter is open and rest are closed. They do have self check out counters. Selective Indian grocery items are available, but not most of the times some items are out of stock.
It was the worst experience I could ever have. Had a cart full of groceries with no one the counters to bill. Just one lady she said her shift is done, when I asked will someone come on other counters she said she has no idea. waited for almost 20 mins but no one came on the counters. When I asked a staff she said you can use the self check out. imagine using self checkout for almost 50 items. Had to do it in 2 parts as the self checkout platform wouldn't allow me to keep all the stuff at once.
