Elk + Avenue Hotel

Great stay and perfect location in Banff!nnI’ll be honest—at first I was worried because I saw a negative review that almost made me cancel. But I’m really glad I didn’t. The hotel turned out to be a great choice.nnThe location is perfect—right in downtown Banff. As soon as you step outside, you’re only a short walk from shops, restaurants, and everything you need. The price was very reasonable for the area, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.nnWe had a room with two queen beds in the loft and one sofa bed, which was perfect for our family of five husband, wife, and three children. Lots of space and very comfortable.nnOverall, a great stay and excellent value. I’d definitely come back!

Perfect spot to stay in Banff. Very convenient location, close to everything. Has a coffee shop and a lovely restaurant within the hotel. Service was prompt and friendly all the time. There is a hot tub and sauna. Very spacious loft style bedroom. Shower is very satisfying with set up and water pressure. Zero complaints. Very happy with my stay.

Appearances, appearances… The hotel looks very good on the outside, with great staff and good looking amenities good bed, shampoo, and the such.nnHowever, quickly one realizes that it is all appearance. Not reality. The minifridge FROZE everything in it. Absolutely NO OUTLETS to connect anything to, meaning one has to connect and charge phones to only one very inconveniently placed outlet in the middle of the room. The coffee machine and water heater did not work. The cleaning was superficial, lazy, incomplete, both since we started our stay and one has to “ask” for it. The telephone was disconnected when we arrived. The television was of very bad quality. Absolutely zero privilege of staying in the hotel for eating in the restaurant - 1 hour wait time even though half the restaurant was empty.nnIs this what going to a hotel is in 2025? Not worth the price.

I'd been looking for a hotel where my husband and son could stay comfortably while I attended a 3-day conference. Somewhere relaxing, close to restaurants and shops, and with easy access to nature. I'm so glad I chose Elk + Avenue hotel! It's just a 7-minute walk to my conference venue and within walking distance to shops, the Bow River trail, the community library, museums, and even the Hoodoos viewpoint. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we loved the cozy common area where guests could relax after a long walk/trek or use the microwave and refill their water bottles. Having a Good Earth cafe right in the building was also a big plus for affordable and convenient meals. Overall, Elk + Avenue is a wonderful and well-situated place to stay in Banff for both work and family time!

Excellent location if you intend on walking everywhere in downtown banff. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, room was good value and the overall atmosphere of the location was great. Didn't have time to try the attached restaurant, but it looked very popular.nnDefinitely will be back.
