Overpriced and extremely small portions. Peking duck was mostly skin, no meat. Sweet and sour pork chops were over cooked. Salt and pepper squid was a small portion. The beef with bean sauce was dry and mostly vegetables. Fried rice was similar to that of left over fried rice from the day time buffet - super dry. The crab was good but didn't taste fresh. Terrible Chinese food. Staff were amazing though and accommodating hence the 3 stars. Meal cost is extremely overpriced for portions and quality. Mall Chinese food is better in my opinion and cheaper too.
We're so glad this long standing restaurant is still here! Stopped in for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Dim sum carts came by and we were served quickly. Food was delicious! Staff were all friendly and helpful. Be sure to go here! Parking: Great public parking down the street.
Absolutely spectacular meal, once again! Food was 5 by 5. Service 5 by 5. Overall... this place is a highly underrated local gem. Don Mee should be about 4.8 on Google, I don't know why it is only a 3.9 as of today. Way too low. The food comes out hot, fresh and fast. We love it here!
Waited an hour to get the first dish, and this was on 1st Jan, there’s only five or six tables of guests when we arrived. Nostalgia deco like 60s China and good food. 130 for 4 people, so it’s pretty decent price too. Recommend the fried , tasty!!
A fairly old Chinese restaurant in Victoria's Chinatown. Foods are acceptable in quality but great. It seems very popular with locals be and tourists. Prices are average and service is good.
Don Mee has been around as long as I recall. It is relatively clean very well situated right at the heart of Chinatown. Food is ok, at least consistent but not great, for example my black bean prawns was a bit bitter!? I had to manually remove most of the beans. Chow main noodles were uncooked with a strange soggy texture. Veggies are always nice and fresh, chef uses lots of corn starch.
One of my favourite place to go every time visiting Victoria. Dim Sum is my go to with all the cart push around to pick the food. So much selection to choose from. Food is amazing.Recommended dishesSteem Pork Bun, Dim Sum, Roll
This place is not wheel chair accessible and has a lot of stairs, took my mom a bit to walk up the stairs with her bad hip but it is a very beautiful place. It took a few minutes to be acknowledged, but once we were we got a seat right away, they were very friendly just run off their feet. Even most of the tables taken and only 4 or 5 servers they were still very tentative. The food came in a very timely manner. The plum sauce was delicious, same with the curry, shrimp and sweet and sour. The chowmein was ok, but I wasn't too fond of the breaded chicken or chop suey. It's a beautiful place though, I'd still go back to give other items a try. Parking: There's paid parking right beside the building Wheelchair accessibility: No button or elevator, just a huge flight of stairs
Decent dim sum but nothing special. The service was not friendly and they were always in hurry to get away. This is a very busy location so you might have to wait 20 minutes before dining here. Also need your vaccine card. The soy sauce and hot sauce are also not very traditionally. Hot sauce tasted like spicy ketchup.
Very good restaurant and experience. Very friendly service as well. Ordered Kung pao chicken and Beef flank hot pot. Decent portions for both. However we loved the beef flank hot pot. It was so tender, literally melts in your mouth. Restaurant was very clean, very luxurious appeal. From the outside on the Chinatown street, you wouldn't be able to tell that there's a restaurant that exist inside. We were satisfied with our dining experience.
