Dockside Smoked Fish Store

Wow.. got the smoked salmon. Not at all fishy, well smoked meat. Not super salty, just right. Kids loved it!! Delicious!! The person selling was helpful and gave me a sample before I bought it. Shared his life story and showed me a picture of his grandfather catching a massive salmon... pretty cool.

I had amazing service everywhere in Tofino but here. There was one man inside the shop and he wouldn’t even put down his tablet when we asked him questions about the smoked fish and his recommendation. It felt like he didn’t want customers to buy stuff. Then when I went to pay, I held up my credit card so that he knew my method of payment. He didn’t tell me my total but just told me to tap to pay. When I left, I looked at the receipt and noticed HE GAVE HIMSELF a 10% tip. Tip for what? Answering 2 questions about the product? He clearly didn’t tell me my total out loud so he could sneak in the tip. It’s completely unethical and a shady way of doing business. To add, the smoked salmon was just average. I tried 2 different flavours and they’re not bad, but nothing special. I do not recommend this shop.

My experience is very familiar to many on here. I went to get some candied salmon, 6 pcs cost 45$ and the guy at the shop gave HIMSELF a 2$ tip. He had his head down buried in his phone the whole time and didn't even speak. If you're looking for a bad experience definitely check this place out . It'll leave you broke and angry.

Wow! I guess I have a new favourite snack now! Its my first time trying maple and candied smoked salmon and it was the tastiest thing. Im not sure if other stores compare to this, since it is my first time trying but it was amazing. Lots of flavour and smells delicious. Price was slightly excessive…11CAD/100g but it was still very good, so I am conflicted. If you have some extra to spend while at tofino, definitely get some smoked salmon here!

The best smoked salmon we have ever eaten in our life. This place is small but serves some amazing things. Definitely try the candied salmon - it’s to die for. Also an awesome stop for souvenirs bring some salmon home! and a great way to support local indigenous business.

Best candied sockeye. $61 worth of various cured salmon and this was all that was left. First time I've eaten meat in eight years but would make it an annual thing for this. Paired with a bottle of Chardonnay. Well worth the trip.

Bought 300 grams of two different types of salmon and were amazed at the flavour and texture! Worth a stop for sure!!!!

You can buy nicely smoked fish here, but employees need to be more politically correct. For example, a cashier asked my Asian friend where is she from and answer that she is from Vancouver was not enough, despite she was born and raised in Vancouver. So she got asked a question where is she REALLY from. Dumb and not polite at all.

Last review checks out. I’ve never known smoked fish can taste this way and it’s delicious. We bought a shy amount, tried a bite and turned around to get more

I wish you would be open the hours you said you would. Would love to eat your delish fish. Came here 3 times during your “open time” and was closed every time.
