The County Clothes-Line store accepts donations of gently-used clothing, toys, games, books and small household items. All merchandise is cleaned, then sold to the public at reasonable prices. (Clients referred from local agencies are allowed to shop free
County Clothes-Line is grateful for YOUR donations! Since our move in 2012 to the new location, we now have room for MORE selection than ever before. The following list will help in determining which donations are appropriate for our organization.
We accept:
*All clothing that is clean and in good repair (we have off-season storage)
*Socks, underwear, belts, swimwear, hats and other accessories
*Maternity and uniforms
*Shoes, boots and purses that are in good shape
*Books - all children's that are in good condition; and 'newer' adult and non-fiction books. NO adult or restricted materials please. NEWER textbooks are accepted!
*Household items - sheets, towels, blankets, tablecloths
*Small household items - knick-knacks, glasses, utensils, dishes, pots, other cookware, canning supplies,
*Craft supplies - wool, patterns, fabrics (if larger pieces)
*Curtains, drapes in good condition
*Toys and puzzles that are complete-please do not drop off damaged or broken toys as we sadly have to discard such items leading to increased waste removal costs on our end
*Curling irons and blow dryers in good shape
*High chairs, strollers - that pass current safety standards
*Sporting good - skates, soccer shoes, baseball equipment
*Suitcases that are clean, backpacks
*School and office supplies, picture frames, photo albums
*Seasonal items - Christmas, Easter and Halloween decorations for example
*Seasonal clothing - suitable for Christmas or Halloween
*Smaller furniture such as coffee tables, chairs, child's desks, office chairs
*SOME 'working' electronic items such as stereos, VCRs, DVD players
*Smaller 'working' appliances-Toasters, kettles, waffle irons, coffee pots
*Records, DVDs, CDs, cassettes
*Telephones, answering machines, electric or manual typewriters
*Antiques and other collectibles
*Bicycles and undamaged helmets that meet CSA
*Crutches, Wheel chairs, Bath Safety, Walkers, Rollators, Canes
*Smaller Exercise equipment - exercise balls and mats etc
*Curtain rods in good usable/complete condition
*Lamps

Sorry we are not able to accept:
*LARGE "SOFT" furniture of any kind, including baby furniture - mattresses, cribs, walkers, car seats, older style gates
*Encyclopedias, magazines more than 1 year old
*Items that are broken or damaged
*Items that are soiled or stained
*Tires, propane tanks, paint cans, batteries or other hazardous waste
*Home preserves - good food is put aside for the Food Bank
*Blinds, large valances, damaged curtain rods
*Ceiling light fixtures that require wiring in
*Used architectural fitting such as sinks, door
*Computers, printers, fax machines
*Vaporizers, humidifiers

Donations can be dropped off, preferably weekdays and evenings from 9am to 9pm at the back door.
The mission of the County Clothes-Line Foundation is twofold:
To provide a means for the donation and sale of quality reusable items at affordable prices - achieved through the operation of the County Clothes-Line store;
and
To fund projects presented by groups and individuals operating within Strathcona County - this funding is made possible with money generated through the store operation.
