First off you should understand that Value Village is a retail business. Even though Value Village takes donations they do not provide any savings on the merchandise they sell. The store sells second hand clothing and household items and nick nacks. The stuff is somewhat expensive for what it is. The store is well lit and clean. For better value my suggestion is go to Goodwill and plus Goodwill is an actual charity.
These are a joke right? $20 for a bag of doll clothes?! There was 4 bags there and one of them only had a backpack and a jacket in it…… October 27, 2022
Super well organized and the staff were polite and professional. Even though it was quite busy for a Monday afternoon, I never had one problem finding someone to ask the two questions I had twice and my time waiting in line was non existent as they were on top of it right away. Great experience overall.
Found my Halloween costume here, when I was checking out asked for price for small 0.5 lb, old dumb bells. Manager prized at $5. I asked if she could check the price as those are probably worth $2 brand new. Kirsty or Krusty! Decided to be rude telling me "you don't have to buy them if you don't want them". She was rude, and continued to mouth me off while walking to the back. RUDE! NEEDS ADULT MANAGEMENT HERE, CHILDREN CANT RUN A STORE.
Prices are just phenomenal for second-hand merchandise in a very quaint, expensive town. The options can be pretty limited given the store is entirely based on donations yet when options come in, they're underpriced just for you and your family to be able to find some special treasures.
Got some good deals on cups and a pair of crutches like new for $5. Lots of stock and decent prices. Was at the Sherwood Park branch which is in direct proximity to a Goodwill and a Salvation Army store so you could make a trip and easily shop all three.
There are no change rooms anymore so you don't know till you get home if any clothes work. Got home and 4 items of clothing had holes in them. They should not be putting those clothes out for sale. Should be inspecting them better. Also the prices are ridiculous for used clothing.
It's absolutely disgusting when you could go there and buy a ripped pair of jeans for $20 and an unripped pair identical can be bought for $9 more brand new in the other stores. When you complain about such things you're told well don't shop here then. It's disgusting that this is on the stock market. That's taking advantage of poor people everything in there is so overpriced it stinks and quite a few of the stuff have stains on it but yet they want top dollar. The manager looks beyond stressed making it very intimidating to talk to her. But value village has gone downhill it's not worth it to shop there when you can get brand new items for just a couple dollars more at Walmart. Value Village does not do donations but they connect you with places that donate. So why even bother claim you're helping anybody but yourself?. I definitely will not be returning to value village because I will not help screw over poor people my donations now will be given elsewhere as will my money. They used to put clean stuff out there now they are so lazy that they just put whatever out there if you don't believe me go look it at the baking items beyond disgusting a lot of it. Yes I will definitely not be helping the manager of any value village get their bonus at Christmas this year while hundreds of people will be starving. Yes you do get shares in the company the same company that gets their monies from poor people great job in screwing over your customers. I will post pictures later to prove but there's lots online including tick tocks of how horrible value village is
Shame on this location for the prices. They are absolutely outrageous in comparison to others and quite a mess and unorganized. Go to salvation army if you're looking for 'thrift' pricing and organization that's easy to look through.
The value village shopping experience has plummeted over the past 2 years. There is plenty of other thrift stores in edmonton that deserve your business compared to these guys.
