After going to 3 or 4 different tile stores and not finding exactly what we wanted we were lucky enough to have been recommended Centura, not only did they have a good selection of tile but we had fantastic service from Robert, if I recall his name correctly. He had a great eye for color, made some nice suggestions and overall we felt like he was invested in our kitchen design/vision. When he made suggestions we weren't 100% onboard with he would ponder then come up with alternatives. 10/10 so far and we just put in an order. Cheers
Update: January 2023 We're just about finished our bathroom project. Tile, grouting, and caulking have all been applied and look phenomenal!!! We are so pleased with the products we purchased from centura. Photos have been added to this review to show the floor to ceiling tiles we installed. Update: Sept 22,2021 Friendly and helpful staff, and stunning tile selection! A neighbor of mine renovated his bathroom years ago using tiles from Centura. After seeing his beautiful creation, my husband and I were motivated to try doing our own bathroom reno. After discussing budget-friendly ideas, we decided to splurge on beautiful tiles, that will bring us a lifetime of joy and never go out of style. So we decided a visit to Centura was a fantastic idea. We brought a small piece of my neighbor's leftover tile to Centura, to see if they still carried it. With no information other than the sample piece, the staff were able to determine the name and color of the tile! Despite not having in stock, they were able to order it in from their Toronto location in less than 5 business days!! Amazing tiles, and great experience at Centura Tiles Ottawa. If you want good quality tiles with a wide selection of styles, I high recommend paying a visit to Centura. On a side note, the "parking lot" is quite small. Busier on weekends. And it is on a one-way road along the side of the building. But when you pick up your order, you must drive to the back of the building complex and get your order from truck loading bay #1. It’s not great. Silly restocking fee even on only a few boxes. They say its for "freight to return to proper branches" but I bought an in stock item, high volume item according to sales. I returned to the same location and all they did was walk 5 meters and put it back on the pallet with the other boxes they had. Maybe charge it for items that need to be ordered?
Centura is amazing! I brought in an old backsplash tile originally installed 20 years ago knowing it would be virtually impossible to match but Sandi found a very close match and I was able to complete the project in my kitchen. I will definitely get my tiles here when I do a full kitchen renovation in a few years!
We are doing a kitchen reno and initially were really excited to find Centura because of the selection of tile they offer and overall quality. While our experience with them was mixed, overall we were really disappointed with the customer service or lack there of and won't be back. On our initial visit, the female sales rep desk at the very front of the showroom... was helpful in pulling tile samples for us to take home, however there were some snide comments about her co-workers and previous customers that came across as very unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable... Red flag number 1. When we went back to purchase our chosen tile, we waited quite a while for service although there were a few people working. We decided to talk to the sales rep we had dealt with before which seemed like a terrible inconvenience to her. There were a few more comments about other clients along with all the things she needs to do while she put through our purchase order. A few days later we realized that we had put our order under the the wrong PO and called to have it resolved. This blew things up for said sales rep and she basically told us it wasn't possible or would be extremely hard to do and the tile would need to be sent back to Montreal. This made absolutely no sense to us as it just seems like a simple return to one card and a repurchase to the new PO. We were still purchasing the tile...no need to send it back to Montreal to have it sent back again. All to say, it took two weeks of calling and emailing with no response from the sales rep we had been dealing with. My husband went in to the store in person to finally get the refund they were clearly avoiding. He was explaining the issue to another employee who was issuing the refund, which resulted in us being blamed for their internal miscommunication and dramatics. Poor service, terrible soft skills, complaining about everyone who crosses her path and internal miscommunication which we were blamed for.
We visited Centura Tile today for the first time on the recommendation of our contractor. He told us to ask for Sandi. She was amazing and made a totally overwhelming task completely pleasurable. She made great suggestions and helped us make so many decisions that we had been struggling with. Highly recommend!
Today l visited Centura Tiles for the first time, on the recommendation of a friend. Sandi was absolutely wonderful in making various suggestions, and she even had pictures to show me how my kitchen backsplash tiles would look. I couldn’t believe how quickly she helped me make my decision. I ended up actually buying my back splash tiles today and she sent me home with samples for my front foyer floor. She was very welcoming, very knowledgeable, and just a delight to work with.Centura is lucky to have her on their staff!
My husband and I were thrilled with the tile choices and the service. Robert Rob guided us through the tile choices while considering our countertop, lighting, kitchen dimensions and more. He was knowledgeable, professional and thoughtful. Thank you!
Just stopped in and had a wonderful experience. Sandy greeted me at the door and showed me everything they have. I was even shown pictures for examples of what all of the tiles will look like in the different rooms of my home renovation. I was even sent home with some samples. I'm very excited to go back and purchase all of the tiles for my home here. Thanks Sandy!
Worse customer service at Centura on Morrison dr in Ottawa. Ordered and paid for tiles. Took 3 weeks for them to come in. We installed the tiles and when we went to return the unopened boxes, we were over the 30 day from "purchase" date and wouldn't refund us. We had other issues when we bought and picked them up. Not the friendliest service when we picked out our tiles; really felt like we were wasting their time. Every box of tiles had 5 to 12 broken tiles. Never buying from them again.
