I visited this place recently couple of times and bought Vegetable Samosas, Spinach and Cheese Samosas and Vegetable Roll and for the price food was really good. Also they were busy but the employees were working very hard and trying to clear the line up which is really good as well. I will definitely go again and try other things.
First time we tried this place. Bought chicken and mutton samosas. Quality was 3/5. Spice level was good. Tried also the chana dal vada it was excellent. The spinach and cheese samosa was also good! Service was quick and very organized. Staff is friendly too. They also have a ready snack section which are in packets and a frozen section to buy samosas and mutton rolls and other items. Saw the sweet section but did not try any. Ample lot of parking. Priced reasonably.
Great place for samosas and appetizers! Right now, their veggie samosas start at $2+tax for 7. Their samosas are medium sized and super crunchy when fresh. I think they're great for party trays!Food: 5/5
LOVE LOVE LOVE. Been going to this place for 4 years already. Their prices are SO cheap! Samosas are only 25 cents each. THINK ABOUT IT! So delicious and so good, I always got it after work or school. Amazing to share with others too. And they have a bunch of other great dishes. Since I go there a lot, they give me complimentary snacks sometimes, it's awesome. I feel really really appreciated as a customer. Recommend it deeply.
It's sad; the food quality at Canbe Foods Inc. has gone. I've been coming to Canbe for over 17 years, and I've always trusted the portion quality with the meals, but today is my last day. After spending in total $34.84 for Mutton Biryani Entree with a small Butter Chicken, and a separate order of Samosas, Mutton Rolls, and Sweets, Canbe lost me as a customer for life. The Mutton Biryani entree $11.99 was only rice and two bones. No meat at all, just two bones. The Butter Chicken small $5.99 was just gravy was a teaspoon of the tiniest chicken pieces. Both meals were extremely salty. It's so disappointing that I paid $20.60 for salted rice and gravy. I could have gone to the grocery store and bought a pack of rice, a jar of butter chicken sauce, four drumsticks, and saved $10 and cooked it myself. The Mutton Rolls, just dough and packed with salt and a teaspoon of dried sauce with tiny potato flakes. The spice is gone!!! No spice. Even the Sweets have no flavour, all tasting the same. What has happened to Canbe? The portion quality and the flavour were the main reason I came back. After this, nope, not again. Now, I have to find a new hot spot for the best South Indian and Sri Lankan food.
Okay not up to mark.. only take way no dinning.. we order chikenkothuparottaokay, & chicken biryani , we spent almost c$45... Sorry I didn't like Vegetarian options: Vegetarian items like somasa Parking: Lot of parking
Used to go to this place often. Went here yesterday around 6 p.m. This place has gone totally downhill. Looks like management had changed hands or the previous owner just doesn't care. Besides snacks they did not have any food at all. All curries, rice, noodle etc dishes were empty. It looked like the place was getting ready to close for the day. Bought samosas and rolls. Absolutely inedible. The oil that was used to fry these items was definitely old. I am in the restaurant business and can tell if the oil hasn't been filtered and / or changed. There used to be lineups previously, but not any more. The place looks more like a morgue. Not properly lit. Looks dark and dingy. Will not be going here unless food quality and variety changes for the better. I DO NOT recommend this place at all.
All the flavours are glorious and divine. Soft string hoppers are healthy and we can eat it without any side. But when combined with Sothi it has an outstanding balance of taste. Sambal is exceptional with string hoppers. It’s definitely the best food in Scarborough.
This is the kinda place I crave and would end up at once every couple of months, hog the fried food here and then regret it. I can’t decide why - is it the chest burn, the less-meat-more-potato filling, or could it be the randomly undercooked inner part of the fried roll? The potato samosas are average by Toronto standards - hot and crispy though. With all that said, I’ll be back in a couple of months.
Used to love the mutton rolls and mutton samosas. Picked up some today, no chunks of meat anymore and not as spicy as before. Quality seems to have gone down since the pandemic. UPDATE: Came back a month later to give them another chance. Unfortunately no hot mutton samosas but there were some in the freezer section. I was told that they will not make them again - discontinued. Much to my surprise the mutton samosas were delicious, full of meat and very spicy. A+ Not sure what’s going on with this place, they seem to have no food available and are discontinuing one of their most popular products.
