Was shopping and had to use the bathroom. Went to the bathrooms near the automotive garage and they were absolutely disgusting. They look like they have not been cleaned in weeks. Garbage and dirt all over the floor, the mirror was filthy, the soap dispenser was empty so they put a liquid soap on the counter but with a foaming lid so the soap doesn’t come out.nnNormally I’m not one to make negative reviews but this was disgusting, especially for a newly renovated Canadian Tire.

Went in recently to look for a lock for my fence. Not a bad range in products but unfortunately had a bad experience with a staff as I was walking out after not finding anything. A man approached me and asked me to look into my purse without greeting or explaining who he is or anything else. I asked him at that point who he was and was told he’s the store ‘owner’. Knowing that I was offended, after looking into my bag and finding NOTHING, he didn’t offer an apology and I went my way. Note to the ‘owner’, if you’re going to accuse someone of stealing, I recommend to approach in a professional and appropriate manner. Seems to be a common theme as I read other reviews with similar experience. I absolutely don’t mind a staff asking me since I don’t have anything to hide. However I highly suggest this location go through a proper training as to how approach customers if you’re going to be questioning them of their honesty and looking through their personal belongings which can feel very sensitive and violating for most people.
Excellent Canadian Tire location, one that we continue to go back to time and time again, largely in part to the great customer service along with great management especially one of the managers, Michael.nnThis location has a good supply of kitchen and homeware, auto, yard, and general camp supplies. Everything is always well stocked, and it's always very easy to find a store member walking around should you need help finding something.nnStore is very accessible, with multiple handicap parking out front along with accessible entrances. Beyond that, it's in a very large plaza with ample parking. The in-store pickup process is also very easy to follow, and super convenient.nnThere is no Canadian Tire gas station in the same plaza, however it is up the street.nnOnce again, great location. Huge shout out to the customer service team at this location, as they're always very friendly and engaging.
I try to shop Canadian when I can but this place makes it SO difficult!nnI walked around looking for items but found no one working in the aisles. There were 3 employees gathered around the front having what seemed to be a social meeting. They pointed me out to the aisles but did not attempt to offer help or guidance; I had to look for items by myself. I also had questions that went unanswered. I would understand if they were busy with other customers or stocking the shelves, but they were socializing.nnWhen I went to pay, I was told that what I thought was a gift card from a previous return was actually a “return” card and had expired. This is something I have never experienced before. Clearly it’s a sneaky way to circumvent the law in Ontario that gift cards cannot expire. None of their competitors follows this practice.nnI spoke with the General Manager she clarified for me that this is higher than the store manager who told me the card is worthless, because it had expired. I asked her if it was worth losing a long-term customer over a $22 store credit and explained to her that none of their competitors, Home Depot for example, follow this practice. Her response was that they are not Home Depot.nnBeing the general manager, I would think she would know better and would see the bigger picture; is it worth losing a long-time customer over a $22 store credit. Her only offer for redress was to give me a toll free number to complain.nnI have neither the time nor desire to jump through hoops, just to make my experience known.nnI also mentioned that this sneaky practice by Canadian Tire creating “return” cards that expire for store credits, instead of gift cards is perhaps a big reason why their recent report of earnings was so dismal.nnI really try to support Canadian businesses, especially independently owned ones like this one, but not when they make it so hard to get reasonable customer service or perform basic shopping.nnI guess they can keep my $22; I will not go back to this store.
