I had a very positive experience at this Canadian Tire location. The store is well organized and relatively clean – everything is in its place, and I didn’t notice any clutter lying around. It makes browsing and finding what you need so much easier.nnIt’s also nice that you might run into a consultant on the floor if you need help, which adds to the overall convenience. At the checkout, the cashiers were young, friendly, and polite, which left a great impression.nnHonestly, I don’t have any complaints about this store. It feels welcoming, professional, and well maintained. I definitely recommend this Canadian Tire branch if you’re in the area.
I had heard about the poor service at Canadian Tire compared to other retailers and unfortunately experienced it firsthand today. I visited to inquire about tires for my vehicle and spoke with a staff member at the desk. Despite providing my vehicle’s year, make, model, and tire size, he repeatedly reminded me—four times in ten minutes—that installation could not be scheduled before December 23, rather than focusing on helping me select tires.nWhen asked if my vehicle needed alignment, I admitted I wasn’t sure, to which he curtly replied that he didn’t know either. His manner came across as dismissive, as though he was more interested in discouraging me than assisting. I also requested a headlamp replacement, but he asked again for the same vehicle details I had already provided. Eventually, he quoted a price of approximately $1,300 without specifying the tire brand, type, or details—only the cost—delivered in a condescending tone.nBy that point, I had decided not to proceed. The interaction left me with the impression that respect and professionalism were lacking. Within 1 hour I was able to book my vehicle at another shop, which offered the same service for $327 less. Canadian Tire has lost my business, and I will avoid returning unless in an emergency. Maybe they don’t give a “you-know-what”, but that’s fine with me!
Brought my 2008 malabu in for a headlight and wheel alignment. They couldn't do the wheel alignment cause they said that I needed new struts also and the cost was 2500 dollars. So they changed the headlight for a cost of 311 dollars I was stunned. This place is very expensive for a headlight and I am not sure what other places charge but it can't be this bad. I would advise anyone not to go there unless you want an oil change or tires. I will say that the rest of the store is nice. Lots of selection of bbqs, shovels, dishes, small appliances, bicycles, plbg parts, batteries, and many other items.
Unfortunately this location seems to have an issue with customer service!nI came in today to get a tire patched, when I stated this to the worker at the desk he looked up at me scoffed and said “ I doubt we can even consider getting you in before the 22nd” !nSorry but that is the absolute worst response !nThe date did not bother me I understand everyone is busy but a simple “ I know we are pretty booked due to the season but let me see when our next opening is “ would have been great!nAs if my little tire repair at CANADIAN TIRE ! Wasn’t worth their time.nTo top it all off when he actually looked there was a spot on the 19th which was totally fine for my schedule.
After trying unsuccessfully to book an appointment for an oil change online twice, I went to this location today to see what times were available. Booking an appointment started out ok but it soon took a left turn. My vehicle is an older Ford Escape with over 200,000 klms on it but still runs like new. Valvoline has a new product for older engines called Restore and Protect. I thought It would be a good time to try it and Canadian Tire carried it. My owners manual specs call for 5W20 or 10W30 for hot conditions. Valvoline's product is actually 0W20 which would give me better starting ability in the winter. Well, as soon as I mentioned that I wanted to use the Valvoline oil, the service adviser said he wouldn't do it because it's not the grade Ford recommends and refused to book an appointment for me. He said if I wanted to use the Valvoline product, I'd have to go somewhere else. He even suggested to try another Canadian Tire. It blew me away.nJust a little background, I was in the automotive aftermarket parts business over 50 years. I'm retired now but I had never heard anyone say something stupid like that. And this is a Canadian Tire Service Advisor representing their company. Makes you wonder what else he is telling customers. Never going back!
