Calgary Climbing Centre Hanger

This has to be the coolest climbing gym I've ever been to. I really like how they dug a pit to make the climbing wall taller. The bouldering area is similar to the Chinook location. The whole building is really well lit unlike some of the other gyms I've been to. They have a large kids section here that I plan on bringing my kids to. It's really close to deerfoot so it's easy to access from just about anywhere.

Best option in Calgary but not a stellar climbing gym. One good aspect is that all routes are set up to lead or TR. However, routes aren't changed often (feet can get slippery) and are rarely great. Ropes can be stiff, pigtailed or separated between the mantle & core (same ropes are used for TR & leading. Could use a sauna too.

I LOVE this place. It's for sure the best climbing place I've ever been to. Staff is awesome and equipment is very well maintained. The part for the kids is SURREAL. I strongly advise that if you take your kids that you give it a go too.

My family came here first time and we we're very impressed by the friendly staff. Kelly was our guide, he was super nice and supportive. I have fear of height and almost quit half way but he put me on easy lesion first and encourage me to keep going to harder ones later. By the time we finish I feel so much better and I would do it again with less fear next time. Great place for adults and kids. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful climbing gym. Lots of route options of varying difficulties which could keep you busy for quite a while. I went to belay for my 4 year old, and it's not ideal for the smaller kids. The Stronghold location is likely better for that, but would be great for older kids or adults. Bouldering area also looks great.
