Your Toronto destination for delicious, authentic Bombay Street Food and Comfort Food.
Bombay Street Food specializes in bringing you the cuisine and flavors of traditional Indian comfort food.
Mumbai (also known as “Bombay”) is a culinary delight for any traveler. As there are myriad of cuisines in India, similarly Mumbai has a delightful variety of food. Some of the recipes have originated in Mumbai itself like pav bhaji, vada pav, ragda pattice, bhel puri, sev puri, various veg pakoras, mumbai toast sandwich, omlette pav, and bhurji pav.
In 2014, sisters-in-law Seema & Amreen Omar founded Bombay Street Food, bringing to Toronto some of the amazing variety of traditional street foods found in Bombay (Mumbai). Not only are all their dishes, from the chutney to masala blends, homemade and authentically spiced, but they also use primarily local ingredients and halal meat from Cargill Farms and Sargeant Farms.
Seema Omar was born and brought up in Mumbai, but after moving to Toronto, she really missed the exciting flavours of traditional Mumbai-style street food snacks. Together with her sister-in-law, Amreen, and they decided to start a new venture —Bombay Street Food— to introduce Toronto to this delicious and diverse cuisine.
Their combination of authentic flavours, halal meat, and fresh, local and seasonal produce has been a huge hit at farmer's markets, food festivals, special events and pop ups around the city.
Now they have opened their first restaurant at 828 Bay St., in the heart of downtown Toronto.
