Arrowhead Lodge

My husband and I had our wedding here almost 2 years ago and it's taken me a long time to actually write this review because I was so completely disappointed. Yes this venue is less expensive than others, and it is a very beautiful space but I would never recommend it to another bride. Everything seemed great until the day of rehearsal. They told me that I had to "walk down the aisle" from the sidewalk and therefore not walk through the guests like a normal ceremony. When I tried to discuss it I was told that it was BAD LUCK to do it any other way at this venue and I was treated like a crazy person who made no sense when I explained that I wanted to walk down the aisle traditionally. Finally they "let me" do it. Then, they tell me that we are not allowed to move the patio furniture during the ceremony so it had to be pushed to the side making it difficult to fit the guests, altar, and musician on the patio space. On top of that we were never told that guests would be directed away from the main entrance so they walked to the patio from the back and when the ceremony was over guests were directed through the BAR, therefore all of the plans for entering the main door were pointless including my escort cards, guestbook, entry sign, outdoor flowers and memory table which were completely missed by our guests. And finally the last straw was the evening attendant was extremely rude. First he was nowhere to be found and I couldn't figure out how to turn down the lights for dancing. Then, we had rented the space until 11, the dj stopped at 10 and the attendant immediately came up to us stating that the our linen person wasn't there yet and that we needed to take all the chair and table linens down ourselves or we would get charged for leaving things behind. I told him this was arranged between the owner of the linen company and the planner and she would be there. Well he was pretty nasty and continued to get on our case about it until we caved and started taking everything down. Of course as soon as we finish, the linen company arrives at 1030 the time she had ARRANGED to be there with the planner the day before. He didn't even apologize for being so rude to us. Obviously the guy just wanted to get home early. Despite all of those problems we managed to have a beautiful day but I can't say I didn't have my regrets about choosing to go there. If I could go back and do it over I would have either payed extra at a venue that would never have had those problems in the first place, or I would have just done it all myself as a backyard wedding so I could have had complete control.

Our wedding, in August of 2017 turned out great. No problems with the facility itself. The price was also so good, we rented it for the day prior so we had more time to set up. The ability to have both indoor and outdoor events worked out great. The wedding looked just like we wanted it. Though we had some communication problems early in our planning stages, working with Brenda ended up being great. She was very helpful the day before our wedding, getting everything set up and even helping to make flower bouquets and set up center pieces. They have a lot of rules regarding vendor and alcohol distribution, which hurts flexibility a little, but it all worked out. The air conditioning was very welcoming, as it was a hot summer day. The only large stain on the event (and it was large) though came with dealing with one of the caretakers on the night of the actual wedding. An employee (not Brenda) accosted several of our guests (yelling and cursing) over a parking issue (some who had nothing to do with it). There is a walkway, that could easily be construed as a driveway (there is a turn around paved into it...) to the front doors of the facility. The DJ pulled up at the beginning of the event to unload his equipment and a wedding party member at the end of the event to help with loading various items. He even went so far as to call the park police! On our wedding day?! Over a parking issue?! Furthermore, as clean up of the facility is on the renter, while were finishing up cleaning he was visibly annoyed (hovering, arms crossed, rolling his eyes etc.) that we were still there (even though we finished one hour early) and would continually lock the doors making in and out access difficult. When confronted about these issues, he became belligerent and continued his extremely unprofessional behavior. When told about these problems the following week, management of the facility came across as defensive, even though they said they would speak with him about it. I never heard back or received any sort of apology regarding the matter.

We gave sleigh rides there for a wedding the grounds at beautiful and the park staff couldn't have been better.

The lodge was perfect for the fall themed wedding. Brenda was amazing at helping us with structuring the event and keeping things running smoothly. I can't say enough what an asset Brenda is. The lodge was reasonably priced. HIGHLY recommend this facility for events

Great facility, would highly recommend for any event.
