Not the best Marriott. They get a lot of vacation through traffic so they don't need to try that hard to provide service or status incentives. They work off of the name for people to book their stay. For the price, I'd rather stay at the Hilton also in downtown and a better location. It's also just been remodeled and very clean and nice with extra friendly and most importantly staff that go out of their way to give perks to guests with status. Stay at the Hilton.
The view is pretty good. The room is clean. Breakfast was good.nWe couldn't get the heat to go down. I got up multiple times in the night to adjust it and it just kept going back up. The front desk didn't want to know about it - or what room we were in - seemed surprised that I would report it.nThe ice machine on our floor didn't work.
Have been to Anchorage on numerous occasions and have avoided the Marriott due to it's lower reviews which have since increased. Decided to stay this time and were pleasantly surprised. Clean rooms, well appointed, comfortable beds, helpful staff. Only had coffee here- didn't dine in but coffee was great! Would recommend for sure.
The rooms and the location were a typical Marriott standards, excellent. However, what made this Marriott more outstanding was the service from the front desk to the valet parking. There are some employees that deserve honorable mention because of their outstanding professionalism, ability to go the extra mile to ensure that we were both comfortable and satisfied. Starting with Kellen Mata and his front desk team on both day and evening shift Louis Dean, Ahsha, Kute, meet your professional and demonstrated excellent experience Edward the Valet retrieved our vehicle efficiently and we had several baggage which handled with care. Especially wanna thank Janet, who pay a special attention to our reservation and works with us and understanding the rates and did all that she could to meet our expectations! Thank you, Alaska Marriott. You truly made our eight day stay a memorable one.
Hotel is cheap and closes the lounge on the weekends and very early on the weekdays. Definitely not the Marriott experience. Should have booked the Sheraton. Was giving this place a second chance from last year.
