Winners

Winners has always been one of my favorite stores — I shop there for myself, my children, my home, and even for gifts for friends. The Golden Mile location used to be my favorite, but my recent experience was very frustrating and disappointing.nnOn August 22, I bought a costume for my daughter using my sister’s employee discount she works at another branch. When we got home, we realized that the package was supposed to include additional items a crown, a magic stick, and wings, but they were missing.nnDuring my next visit, I asked the cashier if they could find the missing items. She was very kind and tried, but nothing was available. On another visit, a different cashier told me that since the second part of the costume was missing, they could give me a discount if I brought the dress back. She even mentioned reducing the price from $35 to $20, which sounded fair, so I agreed to return with the item.nnHowever, on August 27 around 8:35 PM, when I went to the cashier counter, the experience was completely different. The cashier’s look and tone made me very uncomfortable. She said she “remembered me,” which was confusing since I hadn’t had any issue with her before. She then called the manager, who was unfortunately rude from the beginning — not even greeting me or letting me explain.nnInstead of honoring what the other cashier had mentioned, they simply returned the dress and resold it to me with only a $5 discount. And because of that process, I also lost the original 20% discount from my sister’s card. In the end, I wasted my time, left feeling disrespected, and was treated as though I was trying to cause trouble over a small discount.nnThe cashier ignored me and turned away, while the manager repeatedly and firmly said, “I gave you $5 discount!” as if that solved the issue. Ultimately, they resold the item to me for $30 as a final sale — which was not at all what I was told before.nnI left feeling humiliated and extremely disappointed. Winners has always been a store I loved, but this experience at the Golden Mile location was very upsetting, and I truly hope the management takes customer service more seriously.

I love shopping here as there’s usually a great selection of clothing/makeup/home goods.nnI went to use their customer washroom and couldn’t believe the state it is kept in. It smelled so terrible, the floor was gross, and the big sanitary bins in each stall were well overflowing, causing garbage to be everywhere. I hope this isn’t the usual state, and was just a one-off for this location.

The most unprofessional staff I have ever experienced at Winners.nI visited on Oct 23rd 8:00 - 8:30PM.nI picked up an item which was on sale with a red tag, went to the cashier she started starting at me in suspicious way , without saying anything she handed over the item to I believe was the store manager or team lead, without any proper communication they had me wait at the cashier for 15+ minutes and then telling me the item is not on sale this tag is not correct.nI will never go back to this store.

10am on a Wednesday!! Could find no one to assist me on the floor, get to the cashier over 20 people in line two cashiers . The coordinator is doing recalls and returns but does not open her cash. I yelled can we get more cashiers, that’s when I found out who the coordinator was. She kept saying on her EarPods Mike, is there anyone on the floor or are they doing receiving! Seriously a lineup of money bags waiting to part with their money should be the priority! Finally more cashiers, but only after I had to alert the staff help is needed. I don’t work at Winners but on my watch in retail this would not happen! Then be prepared you don’t get a bag!! Spend hundreds and no bag!!

Just left this location and had the best experience, after going to the Scarborough town center location, where the manager was very unhelpful and rude !! I want to thank Josiah for being So nice and helpful. And also the manager katherine. Will be visiting this location from now on. The store was also very clean and organized!
