I stayed here during the weekend of my wedding anniversary celebrated as a hiking trip through Southern Wyoming. The property is wonderful especially when all you have are economy chain hotels and motels in Laramie and Cheyenne, and I have traveled to so many places luxury, economy, and B&B as a good point of comparison. We arrived and the owner greeted us in the evening hours. She was cheerful, kind, and super helpful. Each guest has their own house out of 10 or so on the vast property grounds. We stayed at the Spa House location and it was decorated in rustic furniture and quality decor (that the owner scouts to find and decorates herself). The Spa House was very large with a living room/TV area, cafe table for dining, and bedroom area. The place was immaculately clean, homey, and you felt like you were at a nicely done cabin. It has a cute, rustic kitchen with a microwave, fridge, dishes, and more to prepare meals. We had our toddler son with us, so we had to carry our own portable crib, but the room was fantastic for kids to run around. The spa house has a huge patio space with gorgeous views of Granite Lake and the surrounding state park. It was secluded enough to give you ample privacy. The owner provided towels, soap, and other basic amenities, including free wi-fi and Dish Network TV. DO NOT MISS ORDERING BREAKFAST! The owner is a fabulous cook! She arrived in the morning with a full breakfast for us to enjoy. There are no food options close by, so it was nice to not have to think about breakfast. It's also a good idea to bring things with you for snacks to avoid a long drive to find food at off hours. With the exception of needing a few minor replacements to some of the fabric decor and pillows, I highly recommend Windy Hills as a place for a Southern Wyoming getaway or a stopover on a road trip. The owner is just a gem and has done a great job with this place -- a place that just seems rare in Southern Wyoming.
