I'm a new customer at VVS Jewellers. I met Kathy and her husband, master-jeweller Timmy when I needed my engagement ring fixed. I couldn't believe the fantastic work Timmy did on my ring! It looked and wore better than when my husband had it made in Toronto over 22 years ago. And the price was right! Not a penny more than they quoted. So, I brought a bracelet that had broken. Same an excellent service from Kathy and Timmy. Same high-quality work from Timmy. Same happy service from Kathy. Then I brought in a real challenge. I had two diamond tennis bracelets from another jeweller that had clasps that constantly opened, causing me to lose and later find! one. So in my infinite wisdom sarcasm, I crazy glued the clasps closed not thinking about whether I'd ever need an x-ray or MRI again. That was stupid, but even worse was that I had glued one backwards, so the diamonds were lying on the inside. I brought these or rather, me to Kathy and Timmy at VVS Jewellers, thinking they'd be the best route to go for help. About 40 minutes after a good conversation with Kathy in between customers, Timmy removed both bracelets with clasps intact. I left both bracelets at the store for Timmy to put on new clasps. I will pick them up in a few days. I'm amazed. The atmosphere, the customer service, the talent, the pricing. There's a fantastic selection of products there and Timmy does custom work. Seriously, I really can't think of anything negative to say.
Amazing work on my engagement ring! Timmy provided amazing service as well as Cathy. Very knowledgeable and thorough with helping me create the ring and bringing my vision of it to reality. I have never had such a good experience with a jewelery store and will be using them exclusively going forward! Would recommend to anyone looking to create custom jewelry or needing any repairs to existing pieces!
Took in my mother's vintage Omega watch to be serviced, the bracelet repaired and a link removed. $152+ later I was told that the services it and I should wind it every day at the same time ridiculous since it is self winding and that they removed the broken link and reattached the bracelet-which took care of the broken bit and they would keep the link they removed for me at the shop. A few days later … the watch was not keeping time. Went to VVS’s sister shop in Southland crossing who told us no service was done on the watch at VVS and I’d need to pay them more money to assess. They couldn’t even bother to put the back on securely! Went back to VVS… the Asian woman was very good at playing stupid and acting like she knew nothing and denied telling me what she told me. The repair they made to the bracelet was a poor excuse… the bar that was “handmade” doesn’t even look the same and they scratched and bent the connection to the watch face. On the surface they seem nice and accommodating…. BEWARE. She didn’t even confer with her colleague the one who ‘repaired’ my watch in English! Hiding something??? Shady shady shady.
The best place in Calgary for your jewelry needs. Family owned and extremely friendly. Every time I enter the store I’m greeted with a smile and helping hand. Best customer service in the city no doubt
Amazing service I brought them a broken necklace and they identified the repairs needed in seconds. I left it with them on Wednesday at closing time and got it back first thing Friday morning! Highly recommend
My wife Barbara and myself have enjoyed being customers of VVS jewelers for many years. In that time we have always found the owners to be honest , knowledgeable, capable and helpful. Their prices have always been fair and .their work quality plus. We have found them to never be satisfied until we have been satisfied. Calgary needs more like them .
I've dealt with VVS and Timmy for years. The service and workmanship on repairs for my jewellery have been excellent. I recently had Timmy replace two out of six emeralds that were chipped and cracked in an estate ring that I had purchased. I took the repaired ring for an appraisal after the repairs were completed. The appraiser told me that an excellent match had been done on the replaced emeralds and the workmanship was excellent. I'm a very happy customer and will continue to be a customer for many more years.
I have known Timmy and Cathy for close to 20 years, I have bought jewelry from VVS had work done on all my high end watches and jewelry. Not once in 20 years have I ever had a problem all the work has been done with a high level of craftsmanship. Timmy and Cathy have always been upfront and honest with me and I appreciate the work they do and have done for me. This is a great family jewelry store and I will always have them do my work for me. Thanks again staff at VVS.
Not happy with this place. Recently, had my wife’s wedding ring in to get fixed and it came out horrible. She took it back again and Timmy said he polished it for another hour when we got it back but it looked the exact same. My wife also brought in earrings to make into a diamond ring and was supposed to get a email from Timmy stating how the ring would look. He never send us anything after saying he would. We then asked for the earrings back and he put up a huge fight to get them back and was VERY disrespectful to my wife. Do not get jewelry or jewelry work done here. My wife recently got her ring back after being polished elsewhere and it came out amazing. Timmy is a liar and disrespectful. Read other reviews before going with VVS.
These people are so rude. They added an arbitrary charge to an already expensive purchase and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them with my business. I'm never going here again.
