Checked out Village Sushi for a weekend lunch. Tiny, unassuming hole in the wall 8 seats total run by a Japanese couple. We shared a deluxe futomaki $7.75, chopped scallop roll $5.25, hotate nigiri $3.75, tamago nigiri $2.00, umekyu roll $4.00, negitoro roll $4.75, salmon sashimi $12.50 and shimesaba sashimi $12.50. A couple rolls had slightly too much rice but the sashimi was delicious. Simple and fresh.
Quaint mom and pop sushi place. Food was delicious. Each roll we tried was great. Simple and tasty. Prices were very reasonable. Small dining area, and two outside tables. Service was like you are a guest visiting their home. A nice gem close to the river.
Affordable sushi nook at the end of No#2 Road towards the river. The food is always fresh + smiles are free. It's my new little "gee I'm feeling a bit peckish & poor today...go to spot." Oishi!
This Japanese restaurant is always the best in Richmond! No kidding here! It beats all other Japanese restaurants in the city. It is just far away from anywhere. I was happened in the neighbourhood doing stuff, so my boyfriend and I dropped by and had lunch here. Man! Their sashimi was fresh. Sushi had the right amount of rice. Ramen tasted about right. Customer service was excellent. I really had no complaints about anything about this Japanese restaurant. If you happen to be in this neighbourhood or Steveston in Richmond, you need to drop by this restaurant and try their Japanese food. There is always take out and customers dining in. The restaurant is always busy. I came here in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Their quality always remains well. I wish other Japanese restaurants in Great Vancouver would be like this one. :
Fresh and yummy sushi in Richmond. Take out only, I hope we can dine in there soon but they didn’t decide when.
Best authentic sushi in all lower mainland. A real Japanese restaurant. We love to eat here a lot. A boutique style restaurant, open Tuesday to Sunday, 11am-2:00pm/ 5:00pm-8:00pm Very clean, fresh, great service. I would recommend the California Mango roll made of brown rice. Best Tuna tataki in town.
Ordered here for the first time and it took 10 minutes to prepare. It is a family run business and their menu has a lot of options. The scallop roll was the best of my entire order. The trio combination was average.
Great little sushi place dishing up tasty and affordable rolls for Steveston locals. Better than average green tea served in-house if you decide to eat in, however limited seating might dictate whether you order in or takeout. I tried their dynamite roll, spicy tuna and deluxe futomaki with BBQ eel - all were delicious! I think this is a family-run business, it has a low-key, comfortable sort of feel to it. This place could easily become a weekly takeout habit
This hidden gem has some of the best sushi that Richmond has to offer. If you are a fan of negitoro rolls, this is the place. Limited menu but they make quality stuff at a very affordable price. The only problem is the limited store hours. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Melt in your mouth type of sashimi. But heads up, they are small portions, especially when doing take out
