Top Island Chinese Restaurant

We have passed this restaurant many times, we needed to find a substitute restaurant for dinner. Decided to try Top Cantonese restaurant. As it was late, we were the only few people in the restaurant. Good selection of menu with typical Cantonese cuisine. A little pricey however the quality & the freshness of the food is there. You get what you paid for. We ordered several dishes for dinner & all the dishes were executed very well. I will definitely come back again, service was good. I forgot to mention they even served complimentary peanuts!

We've been going here for over 15 years. The food has always been good and affordable. The service has always been great as well--the food comes out in a timely fashion and used plates are constantly being cleared. We usually book the restaurant's private room for birthdays and events, and sometimes the main area for larger events such as weddings. This means we order the banquet dinners quite often and it doesn't disappoint. Recommend the king crab, peking duck and tapioca pudding :

Reasonable price and staff very helpful during I run the event there. I decorated wedding at many different Chinese restaurant, but David always let us come and prepare ,loading all equipment early, kind and hilarious. Thank from #Aodaivancouver and Le wedding & decor

Not the best dimsum or service, but the food was decent. It’s a busy place and no one wanted to see proof of vaccination.

Had lunch with family and it was good but place is a bit older side. No issue as the food tasted great!

Good quality dim sum. Rice roll with fish paste in crispy bean curd sheet especially well executed. Pricey.Food: 4/5

Great dim sum at reasonable prices. The shrimp and pea tip dumpling wrapped in bean curd was fantastic! We have been coming here over the past 18 years and they have been quite consistent in their quality. If you’re a regular customer they will give you VIP discount which includes free tea and 10% off. Will return!

I’ve been eating in this restaurant for 20 years already, the food is delicious as always, also value for money. Now with the new restriction, they have set up tent on the parking lot for guests to dine in, we must come to support the business!

Health concerns!!! I got some concerns over their food qualities. They have been so long in businesses so I am afraid it was time they should care more

I've been coming to this restaurant for the past 15 years and never had any problems, except for today. I came in to enjoy some food with my family and so we ordered a crab, only to have it ice cold in the middle of the shell. We told the server it was cold and asked for a new order. Where we were then introduced to a very rude man, he grabbed the body of the crab all while making a mess Where he was spilling all of the seasonings on the table. We told him we wanted a new and fresh order, and he didn't want to do a new order and told us the rest of the crab is fine. Also While this entire conversation was happening, he was practically yelling with a very aggressive tone from the start. We then said we don't want to pay for it and he said we still had to pay for it, so we told him we were going to leave and he was very rude and did not care at all. Customer service was very poor, extremely rude and does not care about the customers experience. We will never be coming here again.
