The best Dan Dan Noodles peanut sauce I've ever had. It's very mild spice I'm very sensitive to spice so some people might say none at all and the flavour was amazing. Noodles were well coated and had a slight chew. My friend got their Spicy Beef Noodle and he really enjoyed the flavours of it. Clean interiors and it was not busy on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch so quick to sit down and order. Unfortunately, the location is not super eye-popping, sitting in the corner. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for some good Taiwanese food in the area!
I'd never dined at a restaurant with a perfect 5-star rating on Google before, so I was curious to give them a try. After my visit, I can confidently say they absolutely deserve those 5 stars! I had the most incredible Lanzhou noodles of my life here. The owner mentioned his specialization in noodle making, and it definitely showed in the perfect texture of the noodles. The soup was a burst of herb-packed flavors, a real bomb of taste. Their unique spicy beef noodles are a must-try; they're the only place in town offering this style. We also sampled the Dandan mein, lucky crawfish noodle, and more. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, even the unexpected boba chicken – it's surprisingly delicious. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular here. They even have an old-school arcade game you can enjoy!
Our new fave spot in the city! I now have a healthy addiction to the classic Lanzhou noodle soup, with it's flavourful broth and tender beef. Crispy chicken and dumplings are also great. Lastly, I really appreciate how kind and generous the owners/staff are! Worth the drive from North Van. If you enjoy hot, homemade, delicious soup - DON'T SLEEP ON THIS SPOT!!!
What a wholesome, down to earth family operated restaurant. They offer authentic Chinese noodles and assorted dishes. Service is fantastic. If your palate is more westernized, I recommend the fried chicken which is like crispy little chicken nuggets but with unprocessed chopped chicken bits which are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup was very flavourful and healthy tasting and the owner came and told us he makes it from scratch with about 40 different herbs and 20 spices and the taste is reminiscent of those Chinese herbal stores you walk by filled with aromatic flavour. It’s a bit of an acquired Asian taste but super special if you know what I’m talking about. The noodles are also house made and the dough is put through a noodle machine. The noodles are very long and firm and chewy like alkaline noodles. I also tried the hot and spicy noodles which had more of a chili oil mild spiciness that was very filling. Portions are generous and food is made fresh to order. There is also a cute grandpa appearing man that works there who speaks no English but emanates vibes of kindness and hard work. A very heartwarming dining experience.
Came by based on the first excellent reviews. Free parking on the street and in the lot AND the food is really really good. We got three dishes 2 sides and a main and were super content with the amount! And it was delicious. The young chef, Bill, owned a restaurant for ten years in Winnipeg. Clearly he knows what he’s doing. We loved our dumplings and fried chicken: see the photo. I don’t have a picture of our fried noodle and shrimp dish because we ate it too fast! We’ll be back. Great food! Great service! Great prices! Parking: Lots of free parking on the street and in the lot.
What a gem of a restaurant! We were looking up soup noodle places for dinner, but most places were closing around 9-9:30 p.m. in this area on a Friday night. We saw a bunch of highly reviewed and rated noodle places on this strip, but was drawn to this due to the high rating 4.9. So glad we came, place wasn’t busy, and food came to the table fast, and the food was 100% worth the high rating. We ordered: Spring rolls 3 pcs: These were SO CRUNCHY, piping hot and super fresh. The flavours were good, but even better, the crunch level and hot temperature and the sweet chili sauce accompanied with it was a 5/5. Lanzhou Beef Noodle: Soup was so clear but there was so much depth and flavour. You don’t feel heavy after having this. Beef was extremely tender and soft. If you love cilantro, green onions and a nice hearty, clear bowl of soup noodles, this is the top choice. Also comes with a dollop of spicy chilli oil added in ask for it on the side instead if you can’t take heat. Noodles were al dente; love the slight chew. 5/5 Spicy Beef Noodle: Similar to the Lanzhou Beef noodle broth, but with a punch of spice. No cilantro nor green onions in this one, but comes with bokchoy instead. 5/5 Definitely excited to come back to try their Dandan mein, fried chicken and meat dumplings in spicy sauce. Extra bonus: They have a cute arcade machine in the corner while you wait for your food. You can tell the owner takes pride in his food, and puts his heart and soul into his craft in the broth and noodles. Tastes home made but with an elevated kick. 10/10 would recommend.
I ordered the shrimp crispy chow mein. It was nice with shrimp on top. Was a bit greasy. Heard the soup is worth trying. Bon Appetite.Food: 4/5
Husband and I both from the States came here after going to Safeway to get Canadian snacks. We walked a short distance into the plaza and I had no expectations coming here because I wanted lunch before flying back. We were greeted by the owner and ordered the beef noodle soup, which came out quickly. He also brought some pickled daikon not pictured that paired so well with the noodles. The owner told us he learned how to make this from a master in China. The noodles were chewy and the broth was delectable. My husband commented that it was the best beef noodle he’s had, even better than in Shanghai. It restored me after traveling and my husband and I left happy.
Enjoy the the beef noodle & fried chicken on the 1st visit. Authentic Lanzhou La Mian. Came back for the Dandan noodle and ZhaJiang noodle on the 2nd visit. Liked it so much and didn’t even have time to take the photo. Friendly owners. Clean & bright dining environment. Will be back.
Great spot for some comforting food. They have a old school arcade game that offers different classic games. Great service and it's the small things you can appreciate like their water being filtered. Highly recommend this spot for the experience.Food: 5/5
