I feel bad about giving a not so great review, as the staff were very kind and the place was beautiful. However, most of the services I received were just not good and definitely not worth the price. I had a really nice massage and would actually really recommend their RMT massages. However, my facial, mani and pedi were done very poorly. I wrote in my intake form that I am very oily. During my facial the staff member had trouble getting the mask off my face then proceeded to massage my face with a really thick oil. I left with bits of mask and a heavy oil on my face and in my hairline and needed to promptly shower when I got home. My mani came off the very same night in the shower and my pedi left me with nails of all different shapes and lengths. I would say massage is a good reason to visit, but i would not get any of the other services again.Services: Pedicure
Had a wonderful experience and pedicure. Very clean, welcoming, friendly and professional. Can't wait to go back and try more services. Deserving of 5* for sure!
A lovely country retreat...beautiful surroundings. Ambiance is what a spa should be, relaxing, warm, lovely and very up to date and clean. Staff is professional and welcoming. The treatments that I've had have been excellent. A real treat.
I decided to treat myself after a very busy and stressful couple of months. Went for a deep sea pedicure usually for men and ended up also getting a facial. They have moved to a new location since my last visit. The rooms are very calming in their decor. I did like the big windows at the old location. Minor detail I wish I could remember the name of the lady who treated me. She was delightful and good. Each treatment lasted an hour. Or more? I feel so totally relaxed! I can't remember when I last felt this good. I will go back again and again!
Me and the wife had a couple massage at this spa. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Massage service was good. But they are way over priced for the service they offer. My insurance did not cover the whole amount of the service charge. Also they could not produce official massage therapy receipt for my wife as they only had one registered massage therapist. Hence my wife massage not covered under insurance.
I purchased a package for laser removal of sun damage on my face back in the fall. I was able to use 1 session but then COVID lockdowns came into play. I've called four times now asking for a refund of the sessions remaining in my package because I haven't been able to use it for 6 months now...and through no fault of my own. The lady who answers the phone keeps saying nothing can be done because the spa is closed. This is terrible customer service. I'd like to speak with the manager or owner.
Cozy beautiful spa. Massage was amazing!
****Very Disappointed*** After completing much research on this place I chose it to be the place I would take my dear friend who has been recovering from a serious illness. I booked well in advance based largely on the lovely pictures and positive reviews posted on the internet. Can I just say....I have no idea how this place got such great reviews...I wonder if they have bee manufactured? My experience: We arrived after a 40 min drive from Pickering to a home that looked just ok, certainly not what I would expect to be called a "manor" but I kept an open mind. We entered through a back door labeled "spa" to a small porch-like room, my heart sank a bit when we were seated in a pair of small uncomfortable old chairs. My heart further sank when I realized that there were no facilities for the day spa that one may expect, like a change room, robes, slippers etc. After filling out a long questionnaire, one of the staff indicated that all the services would be done in one room, both my friend and I would have to share as the other rooms were not heated ? We raised concerns about this as normally spa services are done individually. Then they proceeded to tell us that the spa lunch which was to have supposed to have been part of our package was not available. When I asked about the beautiful waiting rooms depicted on the website, I was told that was part of the main house which we were not allowed access to. This was to have been a nice relaxing spa experience, instead we were offered a bargain basement disappointment. We ended up leaving in tears. If you are looking to be pampered with a spa experience, please take a miss on this place despite some good reviews. Consider yourself warned: It does not have ANY of the facilities that someone would expect in a decent day spa experience such as: change rooms, showers, robes, slippers, relaxing waiting room between services, spa lunches or a host that actually cares to offer its guests the services included in package they list on their website. What a waste of a drive.
Bought a gift certificate online from this place, certificate never came. After calling multiple times with the staff not willing to help or check the problem on thier end. Ended up requesting a refund after 2 weeks of requesting the certificate to be resent. Was told by the management that they "do not do refunds". Escalated with visa and PayPal claims department. Called one last time to settle issue and was informed they have no intention of refunding followed by smug laughter on the phone. This place is operated by unprofessional, rude, thieves.
