Surprisingly great experience. Just like a lot of people here I was expecting my experience with Thrifty/Dollar to be absolutely the worst. I have never seen a 1.7 star rating for anything, ever. I even called Expedia and asked them to double check and make sure that the price quoted would be the price I'd have to pay, and they called and made sure. Indeed, that was the price I paid. The clerk was friendly, the process simple, and it was all done quickly. They recommended insurance and didn't push it far when I declined. They recommended winter tires for $20 / day, which I gladly signed up for since outside was a good sized blizzard and the roads were awful (great decision). They upgraded the car at no cost and I was out of there in 15 minutes or so. Upon bringing it back, the process was quick and easy and the total charges were the original Expedia quote plus the winter tires upgrade. Honestly, I am happy. Could they have had a management change?

Never ever use your service again. Got a car from Calgary airport. Charged me over $260 just for two days and charged me extra $40 for winter tires ( Cmon It's Alberta WINTER TIRES ARE A MUST AND OTHER COMPANIES provide with all seasonal tires) and tried to charge me for 3 days because of 2 hours ( IF I DIDN't ASK THEY DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME). After all the car they gave me had a SERVICE REQUEST. I had to drive to Edmonton and engine sounds louder than I got + Service request. Talked to somebody at Thrifty and he wanted me to go all the way back to airport and change the car, Is it my fault that you guys didn't check the car? I had a meeting to go so the guy was like or-else you can drive the car at your risk. WOW! So now it's my fault. Then returned the car and told the guy that there's a service request, He was like AH there's more time for that. So I'm in a different country and I paid and rented a car from you and you guys don't even care. I was scared to death to drive thinking this might stop somewhere. DISSAPOINTED! NEVER EVER RECOMMEND to anybody or not letting anybody to use your service. Sales only! Don't even care about the customer.

These guys are crooks! $20/day for winter tires in AB is ridiculous! Of course someone needs winter tires in Jan in AB. Not to mention that the website doesn't even say that it doesn't come with them. Not to mention the woman at the desk only cared about making a sale and up-selling the tires through lying and letting me know that without them, I'd be screwed, she then wanted a 10 out of 10 company review on the spot. Which I did, followed by a 1 out of 10 review after my rental was done. Don't book with these crooks. They don't care about their customers at all. Winter tires should be required on all rental cars. The people driving these cars aren't locals who know the roads, they're people who have no idea what to expect so when they get to the rental counter their bill goes from $260 to over $600 like ours did. What a horrible shock. Not to mention that the "customer service" after when I called to complain said, "you agreed to these charges, we can't do anything about them." What BS! This company only cares about money and NOT their customers. Go somewhere else who will care about your safety as much as you do.

My experience with this facility is normal, smooth, nothing special. But it really has a lot hidden fees! Listed below: Vehicle license fee: 10.68 Premium location charge: 41.18 Customer facility charge: 36 That's already $88 on top of quoted price! Plus the stuff first try to up sale another vehicle for additional $50 a day! Do I look stupid or crazy? Then she try to convince me that both my already purchased insurance or my travel credit card not covering. Took some time to get the key. The return is very smooth though. I purchased full tank gas as they pushed me to do so. Returned with gas light on. No loss here. I guess most time people return the car with a quarter tank of gas, that's another $15-$20 loss!

I wish I read these reviews before trusting an “amazing” deal I got through Expedia. When I picked up the car, the invoice had more charges than I was quoted by Expedia. Upon pointing this to the staff, they told me to contact Expedia as it’s the customer’s responsibility. The staff started to look for bogus reasons to justify their extra charges (taxes, extra time, etc) Which was no different than what Expedia quoted me. I am never coming back here again.
