Hertz Rent A Car

My pick up was about 5 mins - they upgraded me for free. I didn't have a chance to grab gas fro downtown - no charge. Nt sure why so many complaints here -- maybe change in mgt? In any case this is the kind of customer service I love to receive when travelling and in a hurry. Booking for two more day trips now.

Rented a car, arrived and was told that we couldn't get it because my wife just changed her last name and her card didn't match the order. We requested to change it. Staff said no problem it will be a moment. A few minutes later, she came back to us and said all done but now they don't have any cars! What happened to the one we had? Given away when the order was changed. So after much trouble on the phone and the staff, we were told to go down to Avis and pick up the keys? Got the car. Entire process took almost an hour for a car we already reserved three months earlier. Thanks for the great honeymoon start. (edit to add car was in desperate need of service, wheels were not aligned and car pulled left all the way)

Well we arrived to pickup the vehicle and they said " oh we thought it was tomorrow, it will be about 10 minutes. 15 minutes later they came and said it will be another 15 minutes. This is not the first time we have experienced delays at the Calgary Airport location. We have so much better service at Hertz rental in Fort McMurray.

My experience here wasn't that bad. The lady was courteous and explained the fees and optional ones too like full gas tank or insurance coverage (we didn't opt for that). The car we rented was relatively clean... there was a sock underneath and stains on the backs of the seats so I'm guessing they didn't really check through the car before giving it out. Return was pretty easy, just parked the car there in the returns section. Overall good experience!

I read all the terrible reviews and felt like I should write about my positive experience. I booked an economy car (via Expedia) prior to reading these reviews - as you can imagine, I was a bit worried about what to expect. However, I can say that everything went smoothly. The paperwork was quick and painless and the service was friendly. Honestly, it was one of the fastest check outs I'd ever experienced for a rental car. The car itself was what I requested and very clean. There were no hidden fees, hassles or pressure tactics when I declined the insurance. The drop off process was similarly fast and efficient. The service seems to have definitely improved from the prior reviews.
