Used this Budget after flying into the Calgary airport. We used a certificate which was challenging to use but the people working at the desk, Nadia and Karim, made sure that we received the proper discount. Both of the workers there were extremely pleasant and patient while they worked with us. Nadia also gave us an awesome dinner suggestion!

After renting a car from Budget in Calgary, my company is working to change the policy to using taxis in Calgary instead of rental cars due to fraudulent behavior by Budget.

When I rented the car, the people at Budget weren't able to assist me in searching the car for damage and asked me to annotate any damage myself. I didn't notice any at the time.

Upon return, there was a crack in the windshield underneath the windshield wipers which I hadn't even thought to look for. The man inspecting the car instructed me when I was concerned I hadn't noticed it upon rental that it would be no problem. Just fill out this form and our claims adjusters would waive the damage when it's noted the prior rental had returned the car with damage. They inspect these cars multiple times so it shouldn't be a problem. 

I asked if I could take pictures of the damage because it was in a place I didn't think to look. They insisted I fill out a claims form before I photographed the car. After I filled out the form I went outside to and the car was gone; they told me it would be an hour to get it back, knowing I was there to catch a flight. They willfully prevented me from documenting the damage.

And all those inspections that they supposedly do? I was provided an inspection report that was over 500 km less on the odometer than when I took possession of the car as proof the car had no damage. I pointed this out and they simply replied that the report they provided me was from when the last person checked out the car, not when they returned it. Somehow all these inspections they supposedly do disappear into thin air when they are needed.

In short, they didn't assist me in inspecting the vehicle at check out, they denied me the opportunity to document damage to the vehicle by hiding it from me, then they refused to provide an inspection report from the last return, selectively providing me with an old report.

Seriously, if you're in Calgary, take a taxi. It's a small town and not worth the hassle of dealing with fraudulent rental agencies.

I am from Red Deer.  In the past few years I have been renting vehicles from this Budget - Airport location.  I just wanted other folks to know that I have always found the staff a this location to be very respectful, courteous and professional in their dealing with me.  Both the front desk staff and the pickup/ drop-off staff have always received me and treated me pretty good.  The owners of this location has some great staff here.  These folks will always have your reserved vehicle for you even if your flight is late.  That is great !.  I will continue to use this location and my home town location in Red Deer, and have recommended these locations to my friends and family.

We just had the worst car rental experience ever. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to Calgary Airport Budget Car Rental. Just save yourself the headache and the stress. They gave us a bad car, we had to pull over with 3 children in the car on the highway because we couldn't go any further the whole car was shaking.  We waited for 1 hour to bring us another car and they still charged us for the car that wasn't even drivable. They ruined our whole birthday. Customer Service is plain rude. I would never ever rent anything from them ever again.

Arrived to the car rental place promptly after my flight, I had booked online a few weeks in advance with including under age fee since I’m 23 and added car insurance.  Once arriving the lady at the counter told me that I could not get the rental car I desired since my age which was fine but she still wanted to charge me the same price that was quoted for the larger vehicle as well she told me I would not be able to purschase the extra coverage because my age. Which I thought was a little bit ridiculous. I think your company needs to update your website to refrain someone from making set plans to have them completely altered at the last minute. Especially if they are in a rush and don’t have time to deal with it. Much appreciated. Would definitely advise any one against going to this location since the staff member I delt with was very rude.
