Service Requests happily taken care of by hotel's very friendly staff.nThis hotel with historic charm and age is lovely, well appointed with friendly, helpful service and staff. Understandably in need of attention to minor maintenance in the individual rooms. Note the bathroom sink in our room did not drain properly, the carpet showed significant wear & fraying in several areas. Not deterrents.nThank you for making our short trip to Halifax, wonderful.nWould we come back?..yes!

For the cost of this hotel, the parking is awful, the AC did not work, it was over 22 degrees in the room, and the rooms are very small, with only double beds, and the quality of everything is not up to par with the cost you pay per night. I would not recommend going with a family of 3 or more due to the lack of space. I would not return for theses reason.nHowever,nThe overall building, lobby, staff and service was great. Very good customer service.

A perfect experience from start to finish. We booked last minute and were able to get a room with a view of the Harbour. The room was clean, very comfortable and the view was great. Staff were so friendly and helpful, providing information about the area and welcoming us. We enjoyed the area, with all amenities super close by. We enjoy the board walk and had dinner at a little pub behind the hotel. This place is definitely worth every penny. A must stay for your next trip!

My mom was having eye surgery . This requires 3 consecutive days.nDay 1: consultnDay 2 : surgerynDay3 : check up.nnWe are from New Brunswick, so we needed a place to stay. The Bell Hop met us at our car when we arrived, he took my name, and baggage. We went to the back to park. When we got to the front desk, they had all our baggage on a cart, and was waiting. Upon check in, the bell hop then brought our baggage up on the elevator, made small talk, and showed us to our room. He opened up for us, then, to our surprise, asked us where we wanted our bags and brought them in the room for us.nnMom's surgery was postponed by 1 day. 1 quick call downstairs, and no problem , we have the room for another day.nDay of surgery, they wished us well, and when we got back, went out of their way to make sure she had everything she needed.nnAnd........ on top of it all!!!! They have the best 'hospital rate' in Halifax! And threw in free parking too!!!nnAbsolutely beautiful hotel! Staff , 10 !!!nn100% reccomend!nnThanks for everything, and making this as easy as possible for us!

I really don't know why more people don't stay at this hotel. The price is always better than most hotels in the area, and it's very well located, just outside of downtown. It's close to the waterfront walkway and all the downtown has to offer, without all the noise from the bars/traffic. It's also got a lot of old school charm. I've stayed there at least 20 times and have always enjoyed my stay.
