This is overall a good hostel and it is probably your best bet in the city. It is big, clean and homey. The kitchen and dining area is large with a lot of seating space, it is fully stocked and it is clean. The building is older, but it is well maintained and the common spaces are very comfortable after a long day out exploring. The dorms are small, but they are clean. The lockers in the dorm rooms were secure, but could be replaced as some of them were a little beat up. Plenty of renovated and very clean bathrooms and showers. WiFi was always good, a lot of movies to watch in the TV lounge and there is a good laundry room on site too. It is within walking distance of all the attractions downtown and there is a large super market right next door too. Spring Garden road is just a few minutes away and the whole waterfront is at your door step too. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in.

For our first hostel stay it was wonderful. The staff and volunteers were helpful and very friendly. The hostel was very clean and well kept. I recommend it as a great affordable stay in Halifax.

A perfect place to put your head down after a long day. Close to the waterfront and downtown.

This hostel has an active bedbug infestation as of October 14, 2017. They state they are dealing with it "as it comes up", which does not seem likely to be successful.

It was my first experience at a hostel and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and the linens provided smelled fresh. Definitely recommend.
