I absolutely loved my experience today at The Vegan Pantry! From the moment I walked up I just knew it would be a special spot. I was amazed upon walking in how beautiful the front of house was and then also when I walked into the dining area. Very clean, and friendly atmosphere. I loved the focus on animals and the positive aspects of being vegan, especially as an ethical vegan. I tried the Hawaiian panzorotti and was amazed by the flavour. The crust alone was out of this world. Before leaving I had to grab some dessert of course and left with two snickers bars and a butterfingers not all for me I brought some for friends!!! I’m from Windsor so won’t be able to frequent very often but absolutely can’t wait to go back!
What a great little shop!! My first time in person had desserts delivered in that past. The shop has everything in one area. Sweets behind glass at the counter and frozen and refrigerated foods as well. They have a huge range of apps and entrees and desserts. There is a coffee/tea bar as well. The owner, I assume, is extremely friendly. Was able to answer questions about all of the products and what ingredients were in what...allergy awareness and such. The other staff were on their game as well. The decor is elaborate and the menu was on a large decorated board with all prices visibly printed. Was able to pickup a frozen lasagna and shepherd's pie along with a variety of sweets; cheesecake, Hello Dolly bar, cookies and Turtles, to name a few. The store was immaculate! That's important when purchasing food. There is also a small merch corner for shopping or gifting. Will definitely go back again and again! Vegetarian options: Vegan Dietary restrictions: Gluten free. Vegan. Some soy free.
Tried the Vegan Pantry and couldn't have been happier. Firstly, the girl who served me was extremely friendly and very helpful as it was only my 3rd day into my vegan lifestyle. She took her time explaining things to me and seemed very happy to help. I had the jalapeno burger. The burger was great! Amazing flavour and I loved the air fries. My son had the poutine and he also loved it. We took home some cauliflower wings for the next day and a couple of "snickers" bars. The cauliflower wings were great. The snickers were HUGE and was absolutely amazing. Definitely couldn't eat one myself. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone. Even those who aren't vegan but love most foods. Will be back soon.
We had the Big Pantry Burger and it was sooooooooooo delicious! I can highly recommend it! The server was super nice and I loved the atmosphere! The restaurant is kind of a hidden gem - something you only find if you know about it, as the building doesn't really look like a restaurant from the outside!
Amazing atmosphere. Such kind welcoming staff and the immediate scent of patchouli and baked goods. I’ve never been to a vegan cafe, and The Vegan Pantry has ruined me for all other establishments. Amazing food and wonderful vibes.
What a cute little vegan shop. Big menu, lots of choices for warm meals, desserts, and even cold boxed meals ready to take home. We ordered ahead, picked up a few warm meal options, along with two desserts. Everything was really good. We noticed some stuff did lack salt, so I had to go back in and ask for some. No big deal. Definitely going to make it back here on our next trip through Barrie.
The food is incredible, great vegan place for food. Seems to be a place with the "we're vegan for the animals" vibe which I appreciate even though I'm not a vegan anymore. But dining in was not the greatest as the place is not wheelchair accessible and very hard to get in with a baby stroller. There's lots of space inside but the doors are narrow and there are no ramps. I could look past this but what really bothered me was that the espresso machine was not working and there was no flexibility in providing any hot drinks at all, like a dripping coffee or French press coffee. You dont need espresso for that. Also seems to lack a bit of flexibility like "we do not have espresso coffee to make this Christmas latte but I could make a fake latte with french press/dripping coffee, would that be OK with you?". I'm sure people would say yes. Or simply offer good old americano dripped coffee. I don't know how to say this in any other way, this lack of flexibility in offering solutions might be a North American thing, but business wise it would be smart, cause a place full of baked goods not offering coffee or hot chocolate seems very off... get little French presses or dripping coffee for when the espresso machine does not work, this way I'm sure you'll sell way more baked goods for those who choose to spend some time at your business. Anyway, great food, might return in the future but definitely not any time soon since I'm not strictly vegan. I cannot risk not having a coffee or hot chocolate to drink with my afternoon brownie/cookie at the only time of the day that I can leave the house with the baby.
We were excited because this is a super cute place inside & because my fiancé is vegetarian. However, the teeny expensive pizza looked and tasted disgusting & they recook their fries so they’re pasty and dry and also disgusting lol!! My fiancé really tried to eat his pizza but by the third bite he had to go back and ask for a refund because it was so bad. He actually never asks for refunds either, so it must have been super awful. The owner said she “doesn’t give refunds.” I have never heard of that in my life-I’m sorry but what?! You make bad food and you don’t give a refund?! I liked my jackfruit tenders & the sweets, but when I went up and showed her the fries and asked if she recooked then she said “I do them in an air fryer.” I’m sorry lady, but air fried fries are delicious, I know because we have done them many times like that. These fries were the worst I’ve ever had, on par with when I’ve reheated fries myself…but drier, pastier, and partially burnt air fried twice perhaps?!. I can’t support an establishment that makes expensive food that tastes bad with no possibility of a refund, and also lies to me and serves reheated garbage. Also, other 1 star reviews have said similar things so our experience has happened more then once. Sad food & customer service! Will not return.

Wow!!! I’ve been wanting to try out this restaurant for awhile now and boy am I glad I did! I ordered the buffalo chicken soy free burger with fries, the Nanaimo bar, the six pack of cupcakes & the fudge peanut butter brownie. What blew me away was EVERYTHING! Perfect consistency of ingredients to achieve the perfect taste. Nothing was over powering. The cup cakes were to die for. Literally, the best cupcakes I’ve ever eaten in my entire life and I’ve tried a lot. Some would argue that it’s pricey but in my opinion totally worth it as you can’t find that quality of food in any other restaurant. I was so impressed I even made a video on it. You can find it under my username on YouTube. The girl working behind the counter was very friendly as well. I don’t live close by but I will definitely be back!
