I was really excited to try AvocoBar because I had heard lovely things! However I was a tad disappointed. I paid extra for pickled jalapeños & I only found a small few in the salad, as well as the chipotle chicken. I had the cilantro lime salad & all of the ingredients were fresh! But I found the dressing had little to no flavour & they were light on the added extras. I ordered online which was prompt & wash to use, however, I don’t think I would return based on this experience.
We stopped here while on a road trip. The menu looked good and we were craving a healthy alternative to fast food. My husband had a wrap and I had a salad. His wrap was pretty good but my salad was very bland. The atmosphere felt very cold and unwelcoming. The lights were so low that we thought the restaurant was closed when we arrived. There is a bizarre cage around the whole counter so you can't see any of the staff. You also have to order from a kiosk which is fine but since it was our first time there it would have been nice to be able to ask the staff any questions about the menu. My husband added to steak to his wrap but they were out of steak so we substituted chicken which was fine but we were not offered a refund for the price difference and we felt awkward to ask when we couldn't even see the staff person.
Used to love this place. Now I probably won’t go back. I had my typical salad and there was barely anything on it. Dressing and toppings were definitely lacking. All just lettuce and a few speckles of other veggies. And I spent 16 bucks
Kinda feel the same as others. I’ll start with I used to come here when I lived in Barrie around 2015 ish, it was around $12-15 I don’t remember for a custom salad, it came with 4-6 toppings and a protein. Not cheap for salad but was worth it! Now a custom salad is around $10 + 3.50 for chicken + .75 for all other toppings it becomes close to a $20 salad. Even there prearranged salads are $12.95 plus 3.50 for protein. We paid $39 for 2 salads. We used to love this place but for the value of the money it is no longer worth it. I loved the flavour but there was hardly any toppings and the protein serving was rather small. I was also still hungry after. I waited an hour just to make sure but yeah I was still hungry. I won’t be back after this, sadly disappointed in one of my fave places in Barrie. I wish they would have it the way it was a set amount for BYOS with protein included. $20 for a salad is a bit much. .75 for topping's when you only get a few pieces. On a good note the dressing was amazing :
Tldr: Very very impersonal and about 20% more expensive than it should be considering the portion received. Take down that God awful fence, it’s fing atrocious. My girlfriend and I entered the restaurant excited for something healthy and quick but were immediately taken aback by the cage around the counter, separating the staff from any customer interaction, and the music that was almost too loud for us to hear even each other. The girl behind the counter greeted us as best she could but with a heavy duty steel fence around the prep area, a touchscreen kiosk, and too loud of music she may as well have been a robot. In the least I expected the music to be turned down so that we could either hear each other ask the staff member for a recommendation but that didnt happen either. The salads were good but almost ridiculously expensive for how basic they start. My girlfriends salad was about $15 and mine came to somewhere around $25. I figured the over all size of the salad would increase as you added AND PAID FOR extra toppings which start at $0.75 and go all the way up to $4+, like a burrito, sub sandwich, or salad bowl from pretty much any restaurant. However, that didn’t seem to be the case as we were impersonally presented with a 5”x6”x2” box that immediately seemed light upon receiving. To my surprise there was indeed a salad in the box but not nearly the salad I would have expected after paying what we did and leaving a good tip. This restaurant will not do well if multiple things don’t change and thats coming from people that make an effort to have compassion for local and small businesses.
Ordered the hot asian wrap and it was delicious! The flavours are really great and it tasted super fresh. Always happy to support local!
So wierd not seeing an actual menu on the wall. Cilantro lime salad is sooooo good. Add shredded cabbage and carrot and egg... Yummy! Lost one star as I did not get a fork with my salad. Makes eating it challenging

Excellent quality, I love all the veggies, a little expensive. for an extra 3$ for protein/chicken I really didn’t see much at all do you? I would go back just couldn’t afford too very often.
