The Modern Hotel is a re-animated Travelodge located in downtown Boise’s Linen District. A space where people in motion come to rest in one of 39 intelligently designed rooms with comfortable beds and white sheets for a restful stay that epitomizes downtown Boise living.

The Modern’s bar has classic and original crafted cocktails, a talented chef, new music, and a courtyard for warm nights under western skies.

Stylish, but very low quality for the price. The rooms are remodeled and styled very nicely. The mid century modern furniture and nicely accented walls really give this place a nice aesthetic. The shower was really nice. The bathroom was kind of weird, though. MASSIVE room with just a toilet on one side with the shower on the other (not really a problem, just weird.) The problem I had with my stay was with the quality of the building, and the bed. The front door leading to the exterior wasn’t sealed. I could see daylight around almost the entire door. I could feel a significant draft. The weather was nice, so it wasn’t a big issue for me but it’s of extremely pathetic quality. I was awakened in the morning to foot steps in the interior hallway, and doors slamming, shaking the room. This is an old building with seemingly no attempt at structural improvement. Seems that sound deadening and insulation was not even a slight consideration in the remodel. I could also clearly hear conversations in the hallway. The interior door/wall leading to the hallway seemed paper thin. The bed was quite firm. Maybe some people like this but my shoulders hurt when I woke up. The room was listed at $130 plus tax, and at this price I really can’t recommend due to the poor quality. It’s unfortunate, because the styling is superb. Staff is friendly, too. Bar is nice. I’ll go back for drinks.

The Modern Hotel and Bar in Boise was astonishing. One of the most original hotels we’ve experience. This place is for sure five stars! The front of the hotel is very, modern. It’s a very attractive building and has a very classy up-front facade. When checking in, I needed a restroom and found a seven inch record player in the men’s room! That’s awesome and unique. The rooms were very accommodating. They had a handy lock safe for storage of our valuables. The shower was my absolute favorite part of the stay. It was half glass and half open with a over head shower that got extremely hot if needed. It also had a few small rectangular frosted windows surrounding the bathroom. Which, I thought was very sophisticated. I loved that. The beds might have been memory foam and my back feels rejuvenated after a haul from Oklahoma City through Boise in just three days. I highly recommend The Modern Hotel and Bar in Boise. Also, if you enjoy art as much as we do, the back of the building is a massive modern collage/ mural that was quite captivating. The staff was also very polite. That’s always great. We will be pleased to return.

The outdoor seating around the cozy fires is perfect for chilly spring evenings. There's a lot to choose from on the drink menu but it's impossible to go wrong - they're all sublime. Weekday hours were better than other places nearby and parking options include the small lot on site as well as street parking with decent availability, being a few blocks removed from the center of town.

King bed and full size pillows were very nice. Probably one of the most comfortable beds in all the places I've stayed. Room was clean and the walk in shower was great. My only complaints are there was only one lock on each door. Being a street level room I would want another one. Last thing is the room was noisy. I could hear everything in the hall.

Felt incredible! Stayed in the upper level King Suite for a recent business trip. LOVED the room, from the well stocked kitchenette to the generously oversized bathroom with separate shower and tub. Living space made for a great work area and the bedroom was quite comfortable. Double access to the balcony patio was a super nice detail that I'm glad they didn't overlook. Whether traveling to Boise to check out your relocation options, or for traditional business or pleasure, request room 221 for an unforgettable experience during your time in the city of trees! Again, the staff here is sooo professional, can't say enough about how well we're treated each time we stay here. Special thank you to Tony and Polly for making it consistently great.
