This place is beyond amazing. The staff is so cheerful. They help at any chance they get. We got a refund that we weren’t even expecting, just because the tv in our room wasn’t working & we had to switch rooms. They were patient with us when our road side assistance was late in the morning. The rooms are gorgeous. Whoever manages this place & hires staff needs a raise!!! I have recommended this place to everyone I know. Stay here!!! You’ll love it.

Clean and well maintained but built in the 70s or 80s. The bathroom sink is outside the bathroom which some people might like but I am not a fan of. I like that they allow pets! (2 maximum with a $25 fee each). They can give you a room with sliding doors right out to the grassy yard to walk your dogs. Our dogs are clean and quiet so I would like it if they moved to a refundable deposit rather than a fee since we didn't make any extra work for the cleaning people. We have stayed here a few times but never made it to the pool/sauna facilities so I can't comment on them (given that the rest of the hotel is neat I would assume that they are good).

For the most part this place is a great place to stay with nice clean and comfortable rooms with a nice staff, besides a couple of people. The one problem I have is that there is no designated smoking area and you have to be 25 feet away from the building to smoke but there are no signs posted anywhere around the building or out on the balconies of every room stating the rule of having to be 25 feet away so that leaves you with the option of standing out in the middle of the parking lot where cars drive just to be able to smoke. Another thing is there are no ashtrays anywhere around the building which leaves cigarette butts lying around cuz there's nowhere to put them out. I think there needs to be a designated area to smoke put in somewhere so you don't have to stand out where cars drive, that would probably be a very good idea for this business to do for their smoking customers. Other than that I have a good stay every time I'm here but that issue does need to be addressed bye staff and/or the manager thank you and have a nice day! :-)

Older building, rooms were clean and cozy. We stayed river side, definitely worth the few extra for riverside. Staff was nice, housekeeping was having a bad day. Breakfast was ok, would probably just go find somewhere to eat if I stayed there again. A little noisy, but not more than what I would expect for staying in an older hotel. Kids said the pool was cold and the hot tub looked dirty.

We lived in Boise for 13 years. We moved to Vegas a few years ago but came back to visit family. We had always seen the Cottonwood hotel (formerly the Shilo Inn)while walking on the greenbelt walking trail besides the river. So, we thought we would give it a try. The rooms were nice and the beds had nice white linens and soft comforters. We were a few steps from the indoor pool and the morning breakfast area ( which were the highlights for my 12 year old grandson). We barely heard any noise in the hallways even know the hotel seemed pretty full. It's a hop, skip and a jump to downtown. Easy freeway access to Meridian and the airport. A great walking trail is right outside taking you downtown or the new whitewater park across the street. I highly recommend the Cottonwood hotel. It's our new home away from home.
