The Mint for Lunch 250-590-4490
Open since April 2011, The Mint Lunch at 1412 Douglas St. (street level)
offers our delicious curries you've come to know and love from downstairs. Grab a curry wrap or indulge in our unique curry boxes. We also have made-to-order sandwiches, a selection of salads and our daily soup.
We offer a rotating selection of sweets and have a fridge full of yummy beverages to quench your thirst. We also make our own traditional Chai and Vanilla Soy Chai and are proud to offer you coffee from our neighbors at 2% Jazz.

We have limited seating and it is on a first come basis. Place your order with us at the counter or call ahead to have your lunch ready on your arrival. Dine in or take away.

The Mint Lunch also carries a great selection of fresh and frozen deli items for you to take home and enjoy, including our Butter Chicken curry, MoMo's, house made hummus and more.

Lunch hours are Monday to Friday 11:00am to 9:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays 11:00am-4:00pm and closed stat holidays.

Located below street level at 1414 Douglas St, The Mint serves an eclectic blend of contemporary/west-coast dishes alongside traditional himalayan cuisine and house made desserts. Pair appetizers, share plates, or entrees with a Mint cocktail, original martini, or specialty beer from our ever-evolving drink menu.

We offer vegetarian and celiac-friendly options (including a flourless chocolate cake and gluten-free beer) and are happy to accommodate other dietary restrictions whenever possible.

We open nightly at 5pm for dinner and close at 2am. We encourage reservations on Fridays and Saturdays but walk-ins are always welcome too. Things get louder (and darker) after 9pm on the weekends, as we have resident DJs Thursdays through Sundays for the late night crowd. Children are welcome, although we do recommend you make your reservation for earlier in the evening due to sound levels.

We also have a separate dining area for you to book your next large function or event. Whether its a staff party or small wedding reception. Give us a call for more details.

I have lived here 12 years and this restaurant has been consistently delicious. The service does vary (but has never been bad) and their hours are great-open past 10 pm! Even their prices have remained stable, although I noticed their sharing platters have shrunk in size. Due to their name the mint drinks are less expensive than their other cocktails. Their traditional mojitos aren't actually that great, but I do like their raspberry version and other mint drinks.This is a Victoria staple and I highly recommend it.

Went for curry buffet, but The Mint should look up the definition of "buffet". A party or 20+ of us did the curry buffet, and to our disappointment they only had 3 dishes set up in the corner (rice, butter chicken and lentils/chick peas). To our surprise they don't top up food, and everyone was only able to have one round of food. The butter chicken was empty and the server comes by and covers up the food, to keep the chicken-less curry sauce warm I guess. It's no surprise that about 4-5 of us did not get any butter chicken at all. The Mint refused to cooperate and offered a solution, 35$ for 10 pieces of extra chicken? Apparently each person was only supposed to have two pieces of chicken of varying sizes and that's all they gave (so if some people grabbed extra I guess you're SOL for the single dish non-top up buffet). Keep in mind, we were not told this in advance. This sure the way to keep customers coming back. If you ask me, 3 dishes of food was not worth the price of about $400 for the whole group. We would've been better off ordering items individually off the menu. A disappointment indeed, they lost many customers.

Always a good time. They are open late (2am) nice to be able to grab a bite after a night of drinks. Location is great and able to host a ton of people. Hipster kinda place. Cool environment. Great food and drinks!

Great little hidden gem of Victoria. Located down a flight of stairs you wouldnt find without being keen or knowing of it already. Great atmosphere and food

Even the server agreed that my spaghetti had too much pepper on it, and all the servers looked like they had just rolled out of bed. I would suggest a uniform, and letting people put as much or little pepper on their food as they like. Our server was friendly and very understanding though, and gave us a discount on my order.
