Futaba Japanese Restaurant

Used to come regularly in a former life. Great experiences always. Chef moved on to open Kissako in Oak Bay, and the quality of sushi here declined. That was a long time ago, but poor sushi memories linger. I came back for lunch recently (must be new ownership) and it was great. Back twice since and I am glad it's back.

Placed a sushi and tempura order with Futaba through Skip The Dishes. When the order arrived, it was wrong...the tempura shrimp was missing, there was no soy sauce, no tempura dip and no wasabi. Mistakes happen, so I called them. After numerous attempts to get through by phone, the warm body I finally spoke with informed me they were "too busy to get that out to me tonight." So, I paid for a full order, got half an order, and they couldn't be bothered to fix their mistake. Way to go Futaba. Customer service FAIL! You just lost a regular customer.

Amazing food- some of the best sushi and tempura I've ever had! Affordable. Excellent traditional vibes. Wonderful service. I'd go often if I lived in Victoria.

Love this restaurant! Best Japanese food in Vic, have been coming here for years. Excellent vegetarian options too.
