The Guild

The burger was really really good. My friend had her birthday dinner there, and we love the food there. The price is fair for the quality and quantity of the food you get. The heritage building layout is quite interesting too. Definitely will go there another time.

Nice location and attentive staff. They were going through some sort of transition when we were there last and only had one white wine and one red wine to choose from. Good beer list though.

This review is specifically about renting their upstairs areas for private parties. The space itself is lovely and the staff are very friendly. We had a great time at our party... however... their event planning staff are questionable at best. After having booked the place and signed the contract they made us resign the contract because they changed their system... they assured us nothing was changing in the contract but of course there were 4 differences and despite listing the differences in bullet point form it took 3 email exchanges to rectify, it's not that hard to read an email. This was frustrating. They promised us we could choose what beers were on tap then 1 week before our event informed us we had no choice anymore. They apologized and said they would make it up to us somehow but of course they did nothing to make up for that lie. When meeting with the event planners none of them ever wrote anything down... so they forgot things and a few things they said they would do weren't done. None of these things were deal breakers for us and honestly I'd probably book here again now that I know what to expect. If you need everything to be perfect for your event I highly recommend looking elsewhere but if your okay with plenty of hiccups and imperfections for a beautiful space with friendly staff this is a good bet. The food (Canapes only) was delicious and the cocktails were great. I wasn't a fan of the beers we got stuck with though, this point was the biggest issue for me overall.

Incredible 3 course meal at an extremely reasonable rate. Generous portions, probably the best steak I have eaten at any restaurants in Victoria, ever. Exceptional tap list as well as super tasty cocktails. We will be back!!

Best happy hour deals in town, the tap selection is impeccable. Always get the burger because it's one of the best ever. Suggest it to everyone!
