The boathouse was great. The fish and chips wasn’t the best recipe for white rock but it was still really good. It averages about 25$ per person for most things for lunch. The server got off to a really slow start which almost led me to leave less stars but once the waitress got to our table, everything went really well. She kept our drinks topped off and was very helpful to ask if we needed anything. The view at the top floor was great. You can see the whole area with nice ocean view. I would definitely go back.
We tried their Valentine’s Day special menu, ordered sirloin with lobster tail sirloin was a bit overcooked, lobster tail was good and fresh and mixed seafood grill plain, scallop was bitter, shrimp was dry. I was excited about the lava cake dessert, but there was no chocolate lava coming out of the cake. We were disappointed about the overall flavor and quality, considering the price.
We live dining here after a long walk along the sea. We had scrumptious sandwiches. I had the prawn clubhouse and hubby had the pulled chicken clubhouse, both with fries. To top that off we shared a salted caramel baked Alaska with passion fruit purée. Absolutely fabulous!!
Food deserve 2 starts only. Taco is soggy, mussels are a bit cold when I arrived the table, and the salmon is dry. The only thing good was the oyster. OK wine selection, we got a local white wine and not disappoint. A bit pricy tho. The sun was right in our eyes during sun set and there's no blinds that can shade away the sun. Service is attentive, so 1 start added for that.
Subpar, I was expecting more from the dining experience as the food prices are a preimum however, we were disappointed in the quality of the food. Our group shared the starter seafood platter, the calamari pieces were very tiny and cold. The coconut shrimp were very limited to only a few pieces. For mains we had various steak dishes and salmon. Which also were just okay all the way around. The food also arrived lukewarm. The view is beautiful. Would I repeat in the future, no based on the food quality.
My wife and I went here tonight to celebrate my birthday. Food was super fresh and delicious and our waitress Christy was a fun host for the evening. The Boat House has been hit and miss for us in the past, but the seafood was amazing tonight and salad super fresh. Highly recommend the Seafood Chop Salad and Tuna Poké bowl.
Went there for a friend's birthday dinner. We ordered the 9 oz sirloin with mushrooms and peppercorn sauce along with lobster ravioli. We also had calamari and oysters as starters. Overall, the experience was not bad. The calamari was not good at all very bland and the tzatziki dip was even worse. It was also surprising how many things that the restaurant was out of. Two people at my table ordered the old fashioned and got two different glasses. They even don't have enough glass for the customer to have a consistent experience. They were completely out of the crab dip aged margarita and a few entrees that people from our table wanted to order.
Took my son and his family there August 12. My daughter-in-law had wanted to go since they'd moved from Ontario to Surrey a year ago. Huge disappointment. I had coconut cod with veggies on quinoa. Exceptionally bland, fish in particular and I'm sure it was less than 3 ounces. Veggies slightly better. Adding salad and dessert for $14 brought total to $45. Salad was severely underdressed. Mocha pie was quite good though. Son had a burger and fries. Fries were very good, burger bun was toasted and looked good but disintegrated in his hand. Burger itself was the driest piece of meat I've ever seen. Daughter-in-law ordered seafood dish, I don't remember what it was called. More than 20 minutes after ordering waitress informed her that the sauce had onions in it. When ordering she'd mentioned she had an onion allergy. The only other thing that appealed to her was a mixed seafood appetizer plate. She didn't want to order it as it was for 3 or 4 people and cost $40 but eventually went with it. When it arrived one of the apps had mango ONION chutney on it. Waitress took it away and came back with new plate 20 minutes later. Each item overcooked. Grandson had chicken strips and fries, they were both good $14. Recap; dessert was good, fries were good, chicken strips decent. View was nice. Place was about half full, 2 waitresses for 6 tables none of more than 4 on our floor and service was friendly but only a small notch above useless.
Had a great dinner. Lots of nice options for anytime of the day. The Salmon is a great option and the service is good as well. The Calamari is on the salty side, apparently the team and kitchen is not aware of how much extra salt not to add after the frying… Maybe more people need to voice that.
Been back in this restaurant for a number of times now and it hasn't disappoint me yet. Hopefully it stays that way. Last night was special though. Our server went above & beyond with the service, making our wedding anniversary dinner more pleasant and memorable I always love their Tuna poke.
