So delicious! Not greasy. Had Onion rings, fish and chips. Kids said the hot dog was awesome too.
Low key restaurant that blends into the sea side streets of White Rock. Has a nice view of the waters from the street side tables. Food was between average-good. Ingredients are fresh, but lacks uniqueness when compared to other seafood restaurants in the strip. We had the Captain's Platter and Fish Tacos which had generous portions. Unfortunately, they ran out of mangoes for the fish tacos which they told us about soon after ordering. We'll try this place again given their reasonable prices and quality food.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful lunch with courteous and fast service, even though it was clear that the shop was busy - which is always a good sign! - and the chef/hostess was responsible for all manner of things, and nearly entirely on her own. Delicious dishes all, and we loved the fried pickles!
Very grease fish after eating feels like you dipped your fingers in oil. They have tables to eat outside but no garbage bin nearby, and she refuse to take it and told me to take to bin half a block away. Will not go back .Food: 2/5
Freshest cod and chips ive had in all my years living in white rock and $2 and $3 cheaper than its east beach rivals.
Only take out at this place. First time here. Fish was good. Chips I thought were something that you can buy frozen as they were all uniform size and shape however there were a few which were odd shaped and size. Gravy was tasty but was not keen on the coleslaw. It had a very different taste. Price wise it was on par with other places. Service was a bit slow even though we called ahead but there was only one person and a trainee so I can understand. Not sure if I'll be going again. They need to have mushy peas
As authentic as London’ fish and chips! The tartare sauce was really good. It was a great way to end the day and have a snack before returning home. I like that there were tables available nearby and it’s just in front of the beach. Will definitely go back for some fish and chips. Don’t forget to ask for salt for the fries!
Absolutely rude service from a old lady inside who was cooking and I believe is the owner. She kept reminding us not to leave rubbish on they table outside which we sat on while waiting for our order. There was a sign to not leave rubbish but she had to keep reminding us. And most importantly the food. It was beyond awefull. The chips were all burnt and dark brown to black colour and the fish packet was filled with oil draining from the fish. And the fish was only filled with batter and very thin piece of fish. Highly priced and rude place with disgusting food that would give you upset tummy. Not even worth one star!
The halibut was fresh and delicious. Some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. After make sure to get ice cream next door at the crazy cow. Amazing, handmade, organic ice cream. It is out of this world. Definitely the best I have ever had!
Best fish and chips ever! Light and crispy, and a generous portion. The fish was very fresh and perfectly cooked. The owner was very pleasant and obviously cares about quality. Even though we just ordered two pieces of halibut, we found an extra half portion in the box. As residents of West Van we haven't been to White Rock for many years, and just by luck we chose the Fishboat from a variety of other places, which also looked fine. This meal at the FishBoat was the perfect finish to a lovely day.
