Been wanting to dine here and finally was able to do it last Saturday. The weather was awesome too. We ordered Tacos, Fish and Chips and their Burgers. We loved all of it. The place was so busy and we had to wait for an hour. We complained to our server and he was very apologetic. To ensure we come back and that we had a great experience, our awesome server gave us a gift card due to the wait. We were not disappointed, albeit the wait, we will surely be back.
Amazing restaurant! Great food and quality. Service was excellent too! I think this place is underrated. We visited for the first time last month and ordered fish and chips, and a pizza. Honestly, both were amazing! The pizza was filled with toppings and it didn't feel overly greasy. It tasted great! The fish and chips wasn't short of great too! It was better than many places in Metro Vancouver. Of course, unless you're in White Rock, it's not convenient to come out just for these items but hey! It just gives us a reason to visit White Rock again. The price was fitting and the views cannot be topped. There were lineups after we arrived, so make sure to grab spots early!
The place and service was really nice. Our server was always checking on us if we need anything, so they improved a lot on service based from previous reviews. The food is excellent, I’d like to try their seafood dishes next. I am short of one star since there are some items that were not listed on the menu like non-alcoholic beverages for example, or I must’ve missed it. However, I will definitely go here again next time.
This place is awesome! It's right by the waters and there were many customers that's why we came here. The price is reasonable and the servers were very nice. Make sure you get the fish. We actually forgot we were beside the waters and didn't remember to order the fish which were very fresh. The pasta and tacos were very filling too.
Went to south Surrey visiting a friend and came here for a brunch because of my friend's recommendation. It was Sunday lunch time but the place wasn't very full. We were still asked to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated. Sitting outside was nice in a warm day. We ordered a coffee, a yam fries and a bacon and egg breakfast. Still we were told because of the shortage of kitchen staff that our food would be served in 30 minutes. After the long wait, we finally had our food. Bacon and egg was hot but yam fries was warm and soggy. For sure the yam fries was cooked and sat there for a while. Our friend said her recent visits of the restaurant was like this and not very satisfying. So it was obvious they've been through staff shortage for a while. Waitress were nice and friendly. Food was mediocre.
White Rock Pier & Promenade area is exciting and has excellent potential. In my opinion, Charlie Don't Surf is located in the best part of seaside Marine Drive, and the view from their patio is already half of its success. Considering how overwhelmed they were with the endless stream of clients on a sunny warm day, I should say the service was good. The pizza was unmemorable, as I'm pretty sure it was made with pre-cooked crust or maybe even previously frozen. It is not an issue with a pint of good beer and that fantastic view. However, the San Francisco salad wiped out all flavor shortcomings of pizza. The perfect combination of ingredients and delectable dressing. We didn't have many expectations visiting this establishment, and there is certainly room for improvement, but we enjoyed our stay.
Stopped in for a light lunch to visit some family we haven't seen in a long time. Super cozy place. The warmth of the fireplace in the middle of the room was wonderful. Decor was cute. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Clam chowder was fantastic. Thanks so much
Starting off with the positives, they have great food and quality. Also love the vibes. We sat outside and had a very nice view of the pier. For food we ordered nachos and chicken quesadilla which were both so good. The nachos are a very big portion and worth it. They were loaded with toppings. The food also came out pretty quick, wasn’t too long of a wait. However this was the WORST service I've experienced. We had to call our server over for everything. I believe her name was Amanda. There wasn’t a single time she asked if we needed anything or if we were finding everything alright. We never even got any water to start off with or napkins. When we looked around, she seemed to be servicing the table beside us just fine. It was just our table that she was constantly ignoring. Then at the end we waited 30 minutes to get our bill, and even then we had to wave her down for it.
The host was amazing she was so friendly and welcoming. The service was slow. Took long to order and get the bill. The food was not that great. I had clam chowder which was great. Then had fish and chips. It was not good at all. The fish and so much batter and the fries were frozen fries deep fried. Just not good at all.
If you're looking for a cozy and warm eatery to escape the chilly winter weather, then look no further than the restaurant we visited in White Rock during Christmas. From the moment we stepped inside, we were impressed by the unique fireplace that not only kept us warm but also added a touch of charm to the ambience. The decor and lighting of the eatery were amazing, creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. As a group, we ordered a variety of dishes including fries, drinks, edamame beans, and nachos. While everything we tried was delicious, the nachos were a real standout. They were unlike any nachos we've had before, with a choice of fresh toppings that made them simply irresistible. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience at this eatery. The combination of great food, warm and cozy ambience, and attentive service made it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some delicious food with friends. If you're in the area and looking for a place to eat, be sure to check this place out - you won't be disappointed!
