TD Canada Trust

Will be closing my account at this branch. Sent my son in to open an account with ALL documents he could possibly, realistically bring. He was told they could not open the account due to not having proper documentation. I was very irate, spoke with manager Michael. Michael told me the same thing he told my son, which was "by law" he didn't have what they require. Sent my son to another banking institution the same day With the same documents and he opened his student account on the spot WITHOUT needing anything from me. Needless to say I will be closing and switching banks. As will my daughter.

New permanent resident am I. The staff are very good when you attend face to face. Actually the best banking customer service and account I have come across. They seemed to have adopted a formal consultation technique mainly focussed on current concerns and future expectations. Great for newcomers to Canada who are looking for a mortgage if you have decent amount of capital.

TD is always good in customer service and this branch is one of the best. Every single time I go to this branch I get my answer and work done perfectly .

Just moved from other province to Ontario and went to this branch to update my address with the bank. I provided my new Ontario Driver License with my new address. However, the employee at the front desk kept asking for my original Driver License which was already kept by Service Ontario officer during the driver license exchange. The other option he proposed was that I provided my physical SIN card in order for him to update my address. He said that was TD's policy that all the TD banks were following. To be honest, I have never been asked for SIN card during so many years dealing with different banks. SIN card is not something we are supposed to carry with us all the time as identity. I was able to update my address with other banks in Ontario and never had this issue. I was very disappointed with this branch and was not able to get this simple task done there at the end. Later I went to a different TD branch and they updated my address without asking any question. So it was not normal or standard policy for TD to request SIN card to be presented.
