Taqueria Traspasada

I was excited to try the famous black salsa as it had been recommended several times by others in the neighborhood. It was smoky and really good! The second time we went, it did seem a little spicier. Their tacos are really great! Margarita and Michelada were good too! They bring soup with your lunch or dinner as well, which is a nice touch and the service is good.

Ate here for the first time after their interior remodel. Delicious pozole rojo and shrimp soup! We will be coming dining in here often. And the black salsa is amazing and you must try it.

Traspasada is the best! Their black salsa tops everything perfectly. They make quality tacos, enchiladas, tortas, the works! Don't forget to include a nice tip. Everyone is working hard and the food is delicious!

Was fairly surprised at how good this place was even after checking out the reviews. Nice eclectic mix of tacos available, including brisket which I don’t always see. Torta was delicious and the black salsa was top notch. Good service, clean environment, delicious food and located on a busy corner but still ample parking. Highly recommend.

Great quality burrito. Only thing, it was a little on the small side. For the average person I'd imagine it would be more than enough. The rice and beans were lacking flavor but I'd definitely visit again...

One of my favorite restaurants that I return to again and again! The black salsa is the best salsa ever - an absolute must-try for any Chicagoan. Their veggie tacos are tasty and satisfying. The worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. The staff was very rude and the food took a while to come out and when it finally did come out it was cold by the time it got to the table. I do not recommend. There are many other great Mexican restaurants in Chicago

I got the pollo burrito with everything here. The tortilla was cold, some of the toppings were cold, the chicken tasted like rotisserie chicken. Overall not flavored well. No beans and rice in the burrito.

Great food and very friendly employees! Quick and got everything right when I ordered online. Have to go back here for sure! If you’re looking for great Mexican food look no further!

Such a great Mexican restaurant. Amazing and accommodating staff. Everything down to the rice and beans is on point. Every type of meat you can imagine, even seafood. Definitely the new late night spot :
