Went on a Monday afternoon so it wasn’t very busy but the service was great-so friendly and quick! I ordered the al pastor taco salad and it was DELICIOUS. Also got a Jamaica drink and it was so refreshing! Best bang for my buck in a while and it’s BYOB so next time I go will for sure bring some wine!
Let me start by saying the restaurant itself is beautiful Frida Kahlo Maria Felix all the classics. But let me tell you is not worth the sour experience you will receive here. It is a cardinal sin that this restaurant is owned by people that have no true connection to Mexican authentic cuisine or so it seems. No pride or passion into the food. We ordered fish tacos and calamari and it was dipped in what appears to be tar from the grill with condiments of yellow grease. Think of it as soggy tacos just like your wet socks on a rainy moist Chicago day. For the non believers, may the photo below expel all doubt from your mind. Tread carefully To Owners response I personally did not Finish my tacos because the tortilla was too soggy as stated earlier and the picture showed black burned fish lost in the sauce. The person that came with me did finish cause he was starving and did not want to waste 40$ on the soggy fish tacos. Good luck on continuing to rip people off with bad food. To the masses go to jewel two block away north buy some tilapia for ten bucks tortillas for two dollars and fry them for ten minutes wayyy better than this place and cheaper
We love Don Pedro! They have ice buckets to chill beer and cold glasses. The food is excellent and there's some really creative entrées on the menu. The Chile relleno is an awesome vegetarian option.Food: 5/5
Went on a Friday night. Place was probably 80% full. Service was fast and attentive. We started with the queso which was amazing and hard to stop eating. My wife had the steak burrito suizo which was massive and delicious. I had steak enchiladas with mole weird combo, I know and they were fantastic. Some of the best mole I've ever had. The prices seemed a little high, but I suppose everything is expensive right now. We'll be back!
So happy to have this place in our neighborhood. High quality food. I have had everything from the potato’s bravas, tacos, enchiladas and salads. Salad! Their version is a Caesar is delicious. We often call in and carry out. Staff is always so nice. They will call and confirm orders if they have questions. All around great spot.
This place is overpriced. Tacos 5+ each. I got one steak and one chicken taco and added cheese to both. I’ve been here before a few times. It’s just way too expensive compared to other Mexican restaurants. However, the location looks great, they have a patio outside! Wooden seats that have unique carvings. It’s decorated nicely as well. If you want a cheap bite don’t go here. The food was good not worth almost $14 for two tacos only!
Had a great meal on their very cute patio. Excellent service, delicious Mexican staples, and very reasonable prices since they're BYOB. We'll be back for sure! Had carryout a few weeks ago which was also excellent.
don pedro has become one of my fave restaurants in the neighborhood, a place to enjoy a good meal on any night of the week, BYOB. the food is fresh and delicious and made with care every time. the staff is friendly, makes me feel comfortable and taken care of. highly recommend the breakfast burrito, the combo of flavors and textures does everything it needs to. thank you don pedro!

Ok wow. Went here after my husband & I walked around north center / Lincoln Square looking for an anniversary dinner. With covid rules ect we weren't about reservations ect. So we picked a couple of places. This was 3rd on our list, but should've been 1st! I always order Chile rellano and this was by far the best, freshest version I've had. It was so delicious. Husband got the steak and it was delicious. It was a nice atmosphere, and a byob on top of it all?? Amazing. Def try it.
