Katsuya

Everything is fresh and tasty. Good portions and quite filling. And although smothered in sauce, the batter still retains its crispness. I tried the Original Chicken and also had a taste of the Pork White Snow Chili. Both were tender and delicious but I will say I prefer the sauce of the latter as it has a bit of a kick and the tangyness is nice as well. No too busy when we went there, service was good and they were attentive.

Katsuya is always reliable if you’re looking for your katsu fix! They offer decently sized portions and well-flavoured dishes. Great place to go for a casual meal. Most of my experiences with other Katsuya locations have been great. However, the service I received here my last visit wasn’t the best. Our server did not serve us the soup that came with our meals. We brought this up when we went to pay yet nothing was done to adjust the cost factoring in that we didn’t get the soup. No apology was offered by management as well, they just overlooked the situation. Overall good experience. I would come back out of convenience and the good food. Service can improve though.

They have good ambiance and are very quick with their serving. I especially liked there fries with honey butter powder, will definitely try it out again. They did serve me an amazing curry katsu. Simply loved the food and experience.

The deep fried pork cutlet is good. I like the white sauce. Squid ball is good. The deep fried chicken is disappointing, a bit too thin and dry. It is nicer to dine in as you can get the soup, salad and rice refill.

I think the establishment would benefit from more table staff. We had keep trying to flag someone down after 10 mins of being seated and not being able to order. Overall food was good. Rice portion is small. Will come back with hopes of more attentive service.

The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside but when you walk in you are greeted to one of the best ambient Japanese restaurants. The restaurant is intimate and home to some of the most authentic and delicious Japanese food you can have in Mississauga, the portions are great and the chicken Karaage is absolutely delectable and crunchy. Highly recommend you try this place if you are at all a fan of Japanese cuisine and to bring cash for a discount!

A great place to dine with friends and family. Fresh/quality ingredients, reasonable prices, we paid around $20 per person after taxes. We both got pork Katsu, which includes sauce, rice, and cabbage salad. Seating area is clean and there is room for large groups. Service is quick and no frills, as with many Asian restaurants. Definitely a must try, they also have other locations throughout the GTA. 10% off if you pay in cash!

Absolutely loved the patty on the fried pork cutlets. So light and crispy. The cutlet is a little thinner than I would have liked but still good. The sauce on the original Katsu has hints of cinnamon which is nice but the traditional version still taste better. 1 issue I have is the way they compressed the rice served, making it all glom together. Not the best way to serve it.

I LOVE KATSUYA. I just tried it this year and I definitely have missed out all throughout these years. Their original pork loin katsu sauce is to die for. My brother’s first time and he loved the curry pork loin katsu as well. Something I have to get every time I am here is the Crab and Cheese Croquette. It is so good! Overall such a good experience with servers, very attentive and welcoming. This place gets super busy as well so just keep in mind during high peak times! My tummy is always happy after eating here.

Went during their 30% off on Japanese Katsu take-out & cash only Relay event. We ordered Crabmeat Croquettes and 1lb Karaage as well. Overall, the food was really good and everything was very crispy. I usually go to Katsuya when I'm craving some Katsu but order Honeycomb shown in a previous order or Original. Only a 4* this time because I was hoping the event would apply to Dine-In and apply to more than just Japanese Katsu Worcestershire sauce mix options.
