A Pleasant Surprise After my lunch experience at the Admiral Rd location I did not expect such a satisfying quality of sashimi in the chirashi don. The salmon had a great texture. Their portion of tuna was very generous, in part because I didn't want tako. Tomago was very juicy and flavour was appropriate. The lemon was not needed. I associate lemon as a foreign way to mask "fishiness." Their fish was not fishy so the lemons were for my water. I found it unconventional that there was salad mix between the rice and sashimi but it worked well with the tuna. Oh and the rice was right on point. So I encourage people to come and try out Sushi Field. Maybe get some take out and head to the beach. Sushi by the beach is a uniquely authentic experience.
We got Beef Teriyaki Combo , Takoyaki, Shrimp Sunomono, and more. Fresh ingredients! Really tasty! I strongly recommend this amazing restaurant.
Honestly love this place so much I’m not from here and love visiting everytime I come the sushi is so good and everyone is super friendly
Waited for my food for over 40 minutes when we got it we were missing half the order so we waited again until they got the rest of it and I got home and we were missing another item. Was hopping to have a nice meal on my girlfriends birthday it kinda killed our evening. I Do not recommend this place plenty of other sushi restaurants in town I would much rather go to.
The seating is a little small but they make great tempura with lots of different fun veggies. I also love how they converted all the old mexican decorations from when I remember the restaurant used to be a Mexican place.Food: 5/5
Superb sushi pizza - the rice base crust was done to perfection, crispy on the outside, with a tender rice center, and topped with all kinds of freshness including sliced avocado, salmon sashimi, and various salad toppings. Coming back for more.....and excellent service.
I am sad to be writing this review. Sushi Field Admirals is by far my favourite sushi place in victoria, but I decided to try the Fairfield location as it was the only one available on Uber eats. Firstly, i asked for chopsticks and didn’t receive it. I ordered the Dinner Special beef and a sushi roll. The miso soup was hot, but it tasted like water. It was so bland and it’s so disappointing as I’ve never had bad miso soup before. It was so flavourless and i couldn’t finish it. I got 3 pieces of the tempura broccoli, yam, and shrimp when I usually get at least 2 shrimps and a bit more selection. I’ve gotten this exact same order at the Admirals Rd location SEVERAL times. The tempura was fine even though it was so little. My actual dinner was the most disappointing. The rice was extremely wet and sticky, almost impossible to pick with chopsticks. The salad was tiny, even though at the other location I would get a full container full of this salad. This was so lacking for $30 and I’m so disappointed. The beef was also so bland and dry, barely any teriyaki sauce. I was expected almost the same flavour as how I usually get, but now i know I will not be coming back to this location. Not impressed especially considering there were many good reviews here.
It may be possible that Sushi Field collects the unsold plastic packs of day old sushi from Thrifty Foods next door and resells them. Long wait times, rude front staff, and food quality that has gone way down from what it used to be: there are no longer any reasons to consider Sushi Field when there are other options in Victoria. The core issue seems to be that they accept too many Uber Eats/Skip orders and let their customer service interactions and food quality suffer.
Place is really nice , food is great as well. Small restaurant but great workers. A wide selection on ramen, rice, bibimap and sushi. Looking forward to my next visit! The pricing is really fair and good compared to most other places.Food: 4/5
Worse than grocery store day old sushi. Praying I don't get food poisoning. Gave it a good try but threw out the vast majority. Now ordering something else for dinner.
