A really nice treasure for the area! Fine foods and not the typical products in all the big chain grocery stores. You have to expect the prices being a little higher but worth it in my opinion. Prepared foods are also excellent!
I have been a fan favourite of Summerhill Market for over a decade back when they had only 2 locations. Shopping here brings a nostalgia for me - although I have to say it’s not the same as before as they have grown much bigger now. However, I still appreciate their ability to try to differentiate themselves in the luxury grocery store chain.nnGreat if you’re looking for niche products and prepared foods. Their line of South Asian curries are delicious. Our family favourites are the Biryani and Butter chicken! We don’t find it all that expensive for their prepared goods given the portion sizes we get out of it and if we were to compare it to dining at a restaurant. I love their pastries, especially their tarts. We also love how they offer mini pie options for certain flavours! We mainly shop here when we don’t want to make a meal and just wanted to grab something easy to reheat at home without it being a “frozen” option.nnNeedless to say, happy to have a Summerhill Market in this neighbourhood!
A very welcome addition to the neighbourhood and a great spot to walk to for folks in the Baby Point, valley, and Runnymede neighbourhoods. Summerhill Market carries Carbonaut bread and other curated brands which you’d otherwise have to drive to another specialty market to find in the city. I appreciate the design and curated details - from the light fixtures to the arched and rounded millwork. This location has large industrial windows as well. Limited parking and somewhat tight in the aisles, but it is similar to what you’d find at other locations.
On my first visit to this location, I purchased 2 bunches of dahlias. That was Saturday, today on Monday, 2 days later, they are turning brown. Yes, I cut the stems 2” when I put them in water.nnNot going back.
So happy to have a summer hill in the west end, just the parking is very limited. But this location is worth the hassle. They have a great selection of high quality groceries and local unique items. Staff is always so friendly and goes above and beyond. We like to try a new summer hill ready to heat foods every time we stop here.
